Last week, members of our TreeTop team attended the Colorado Children's Alliance (CCA) Advocacy 101 training at the Western Slope Center for Children in Grand Junction, Colorado.

During this two-day training, we learned what it means to be a Family Advocate and collaborated with other Child Advocacy Centers from across the state to share perspectives, ideas, and to support one another.

As we develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be Family Advocates, our team can provide more resources and support to families across Colorado's 5th Judicial District.

As we begin settling into colder mornings, we are reminded that autumn is almost here.

In a season meant for coming together, TreeTop is here to make sure that children and families in our community aren't facing challenges alone. Whether a disclosure has been made or you are wondering about local resources, we are here to help, and it wouldn't be possible without community support.

TreeTop has been busy this summer!

As we work toward expanding our community awareness efforts, TreeTop has joined many events this summer. We want to keep this momentum going, and we need your help!

For families arriving at TreeTop during an incredibly difficult time, a warm welcome and a safe space can make all the difference.

Over the years, families have continued to share how supported, heard, and cared for they felt when they visited TreeTop, and we strive every day to provide that level of compassion for anyone who walks our doors.

A soft landing and a space for healing is what we hope every family experiences at our center, and we are always here for you, so no one has to face it alone.

Please join us in welcoming Josselin Leiva as TreeTop's new Bilingual Forensic Interviewer and Family Victim Advocate!

Originally from El Salvador, Josselin moved to the United States when she was 12 years old. She has earned her bachelor's degree in sociology and is currently pursuing her master's degree in international studies. Josselin previously worked with TreeTop as a contracted Forensic Interviewer, and we are thrilled to have her on the team full-time.

When asked what she loves most about being part of TreeTop, Josselin shared "It's a judgmental-free space for everyone. Everyone shares their stories and has a good conversation with everyone."

Back to School is Here!

Each year, caregivers meet a new teacher who will become an important, trusted adult in their child's life at school. To make this transition a bit easier, TreeTop created this guide to help families build strong relationships with teachers, understand how their child is doing in the classroom, and create an open line of communication.

Earlier this week, members of TreeTop's Multidisciplinary Team attended the 38th Annual COVA (Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance) Conference in Keystone, CO.

Our team came together with advocates, investigators, and professionals from across the country to sharpen skills, exchange best practices, and strengthen the collaborative response to child abuse in our communities.

This kind of continued education directly strengthens the work we do every day for kids and families across Eagle, Summit, Lake, and Clear Creek counties.
