Summer should feel safe for every child.

With school out, children and teens may spend more time without trusted adults nearby. If you see signs of abuse, threats, self-harm, neglect, unsafe situations, or a child who may need help, don’t stay silent.

Reports to Safe2Tell Colorado are anonymous and available 24/7.

Safety at Home: What It Actually Means Up Here

In places shaped by seasonal change, isolation, and constant transition, children need more than crisis response. They need trusted adults, connection, and support that reminds them they are never alone.

We are proud to recognize a valued member of our Multidisciplinary Team and local community, Tully Gibbons, BSN, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P, CEN, for receiving the Excellence in Nursing Award, the highest nursing honor in Colorado.

As the Forensic Nurse Examiner Program Coordinator at St. Anthony Summit Hospital, Tully brings compassion, dedication, and a trauma-informed approach to every child and family she serves. She works tirelessly to ensure child victims of abuse are treated with dignity, respect, and care, and our community is stronger because of her work.

This recognition is a true reflection of the impact Tully has made on victims of violence, children, and families throughout our community. We could not think of a more deserving person to receive this honor.

Congratulations, Tully, on this incredibly well-deserved achievement!

“It was such an honor to receive this prestigious nursing award. Although making positive change for victims of violence is rewarding in itself, it’s always exciting to receive recognition as well!” – Tully Gibbons

SIXTEEN.

That’s how many children and their families TreeTop Child Advocacy Center has served so far in Colorado’s 5th Judicial District in 2026.

With every referral received, TreeTop is committed to walking alongside families and providing a supportive, trauma-informed process during an incredibly difficult time. Through collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams and local partners, families receive coordinated care designed to bring clarity, support, and compassion when it’s needed most.

We can’t change the numbers, but we can continue showing up for the families behind them, offering advocacy, care, and hope throughout their healing journey.

May is National Foster Care Month 💙

This month, we recognize the children, families, and caregivers who are part of the foster care community.

Many children in care have experienced difficult and complex circumstances, and Child Advocacy Centers like TreeTop Child Advocacy Center work to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support, connection, and care along the healing journey.

We are deeply grateful for foster families, advocates, and community partners who help children feel safe, valued, and supported every step of the way. 💙

TreeTop Child Advocacy Center had the opportunity to join Colorado Children's Alliance for their very first Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team Simulation Training.

This meaningful training brought together Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT) from across Colorado, including family advocates, mental health providers, forensic nurse examiners, law enforcement, forensic interviewers, Child Advocacy Center staff, and more. Together, we focused on strengthening collaboration and deepening our understanding of each role in supporting children and families.

Through mock case discussions and shared MDT goals, we stepped into one another’s perspectives and explored how each discipline contributes to a coordinated, trauma-informed response. These shared learning experiences help us continue growing together so we can better support children with care, consistency, and compassion.
