One hundred people took part in a golf tournament Monday to raise money for a Northwest Rankin student with bone cancer.

🎗️THANK YOU🎗️September was pediatric cancer awareness month and what a month it was! We have been collecting the final numbers from our GO GOLD partners, and we are SO excited to share what our community accomplished in September!

In September, businesses, schools, teams and organizations throughout central Mississippi showed up in true Gabby Strong fashion. Some raised money, some donated a portion of their sales, some hosted fundraisers, and others went GOLD and helped get people talking about childhood cancer.

Every single one made an impact.

Thank you to the City of Flowood, our many business partners, six area schools, the Flowood Fashion Board, and the Run Strong running club for GOING GOLD throughout the month!

Together, we filled September with six gold-out games, a fashion show, a gold bow campaign, a 5K and a ribbon cutting celebrating two years of service. At our GO GOLD games, our community came together to honor 15 local children and their families—recognizing their courage, sharing their stories and reminding them they are loved.

Our September GO GOLD campaign raised $25,000. - To God Be The Glory!

🎗️Hartfield HOPE ULTRA Gold Out 🎗️

Our final GOLD OUT game of the month was a special one! Hartfield Academy hosted Pillow Academy for a HOPE ULTRA Gold Out honoring Reed Nunnelee and raising awareness for pediatric cancer.

The Hartfield Honchos and Coach Bowman rallied throughout the week with their “Coins for a Cure” Change War, raising an incredible $3,687.47! An additional $1,982 was raised at the game, bringing the grand total to an amazing $5,669.47! 🎗️👊🏻

In the pregame ceremony we had the privilege to recognize some very special warriors from Pillow Academy: Ellen Miller, a leukemia survivor; Iva Beth Lindsey, a germ cell cancer survivor and Cate Hargrove, who is battling a rare blood condition and bone marrow failure. Owen Hastings, a 4-year-old from Madison battling leukemia was honored and the recipient of a $10,000 presented in honor of Reed Nunnelee.

The evening also included a bone marrow donor swabbing event in honor of Cate, giving attendees the opportunity to potentially become a lifesaving match.
