As many of you may know, I have been on a break from taking any new senior pups due to having a baby this past summer; she really needs me most right now. But our resident boys (and I) would love and appreciate some items from their Chewy & Amazon wishlists! www.linktr.ee/rescue_garden and if you would rather donate financially we can put the money towards items on their wishlist too! Thank you for thinking of us on and this Holiday season! 🐾🎄

My beautiful Polly is off to her foster to adopt home tomorrow. She is going to the lovely family who adopted Daffodil (Daffy) last year. I always shed a tear when one of my pups gets adopted, a happy tear. As many know, Rescue Garden primarily takes hospice dogs that live out their lives with me. We have the occasional adoption when the fit is right and when the pup has a lot more s***k left to give! Send your loving thoughts to Polly on her next adventure. 🫶🏼🌺🐾

Polly is enjoying her time with her foster family while this rescue dog momma is on maternity leave. Polly clearly is getting along well with her foster bro Maverick. She is being fostered by my gal pal Sonja at the Hudson House of Hounds! ~Jona 🩷🐾🌺

I couldn’t find Peppy when I went out to the cottage to feed everyone dinner. He sure surprised me when he popped his little head out from the toy basket! 🤣 🧸

I hope that all of the moms and fur moms felt appreciated today. I’m sending my love and gratitude to all of you! 🩷🐾🌺

I’m very sad to let our friends know that we had to lay our precious matriarch Juliet (JJ) to rest on Saturday morning. If you would like to leave a little note on her memorial page I always love to look back on them. Here is the link to light a candle in her memory www.lapoflove.com/pet-memorial/35652 🩷🐾🌺

Juliet (JJ) who we affectionately called "mamma" entered our lives in 2017 when her and her six puppies arrived at the animal shelter that I was employed at at the time. Knowing that I had a friend interested in adopting a golden retriever puppy, I offered to foster JJ and her pups until they were cleared for adoption. Let's just say fostering a mother and six puppies in a one bedroom apartment was interesting at best (sorry Mark)! JJ's puppies all got adopted several months later and we decided to adopt JJ ourselves. Since JJ entering our lives I started my own senior dog Rescue (Rescue Garden Inc.) and have had many many pups come in and out of our home during that time, most of whom are seniors, ill, or injured. JJ always nurtured these pups and was so patient with all of them. Many times the little dogs would think JJ's big fluffy body was a bed and she would willingly allow them to nap on her back. JJ was what I call a "bomb proof" dog and would never react negatively under any circumstances. JJ was even approved as a Therapy Dog through Project PUP for hospital patients and staff before Covid closed that down. We will miss JJ's ever loving presence in our home deeply. Walking in the door does not feel the same. We will even miss her fur all over the house that we jokingly call her 'tumbleweeds'. Rest well our sweet JJ, enjoy chasing those squirrels again at the Golden Gates where only the best dogs get to go. Love Grows Here because of you.

Hi friends! We have some items on our and Wishlist's that the senior pups really need. The most needed items right now are disposable potty pads and disposable small male dog diapers! Peppy also REALLY liked the Churro cat treats since he has not been feeling well so I have added those also. Thank you everyone for your support! Here is the link to the pups Amazon and Chewy lists www.linktr.ee/rescue_garden
