Good work … Good dog!

After years of service and some pretty impressive numbers, one of our K-9s, Maty, is officially retiring.

During his time with us, Maty helped take nearly $975,000 in illegal cash, 377 pounds of m**hamphetamine, 131 pounds of co***ne, 53 pounds of powdered fentanyl, 87,000 fentanyl pills and one pound of he**in off Minnesota roads.

Thank you for your service, Maty. Enjoy retirement, buddy. You’ve earned it!

So far this year in Minnesota 60 alcohol related deaths. 60 too many.
The legal BAC limit is 0.08. For an adult, that means 2-3 standard alcoholic beverages.

A single decision can change everything. At tomorrow’s press conference, we’ll hear from someone who knows this firsthand.

In 2023, Corey was arrested for driving while impaired. What followed were years of trials and costs. Now, he wants drivers to know there is a simple way to avoid his fate: drive sober.

So far this year, that has been at least 62 alcohol-related deaths on Minnesota roads. To help put an end to these preventable deaths and protect drivers and passengers, nearly 300 Minnesota law enforcement agencies are joining together to raise awareness and education all while increasing DWI enforcement on Minnesota roads.

Data show that 44% of all fatal motorcycle crashes happen between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. — during the heavy evening commute and sunset hours.

Riders:

Cheers to Fitz! Good boy.

This past weekend, K9 Fitz and A-Crew continued to be proactive during their patrol shift. Out of the several traffic stops that were made, Officer McKee deployed K9 Fitz during four of them. Fitz alerted to the presence of narcotics in each of these four stops where drugs, to include m**h and co***ne, were seized. Officers arrested those involved for a variety of charges ranging from DWI to Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Good work to A Crew and K9 Fitz for continuing to keep the streets of Duluth clean and safe!
