A garden can give a young person a place to learn and belong. A working freezer helps keep meals on the table. A community event can help families connect.

Our Brainerd Noon Rotary Foundation is supporting all three with $6,000 in local grants:

• $2,500 to WonderTrek Children’s Museum for its youth garden mentorship program.
• $2,500 to Port Group Homes to help repair the freezer used to store food for youth in its care.
• $1,000 to Choose Kindness, an event supporting mental well-being for middle school students and their families.

We’re proud to support these organizations and the people doing great work in our community.

Some fresh dirt at Rotary Park marks the start of our next project: a native pollinator garden!

Thank you to Aaron Peterson for donating his time, skills and equipment to till the site, and to Great River Greening for covering the cost of plants from Minnesota Native Landscapes.

The plan includes 21 native species with blooms from spring into fall. Pending final park board approval, Rotarians will plant the first half on Oct. 2 during the Rotary District Conference. The rest is planned for 2027.

If you’re walking near Rotary Parks main parking lot, that’s what’s taking shape!

Our meetings have never been more fun! Thanks to Shane for all of the energy he brings!

Interested in seeing what it's all about? Feel free to join us as a guest! We meet Tuesdays at 12pm in the Lower Level of Northland Arboretum.

We’re not saying Shane won the “most enthusiastic person at Rotary” award this week… but this photo makes a pretty strong case. 😂

The Rotary Club of Brainerd is proud to announce the completion of a 9.7 kilowatt solar project in partnership with the City of Brainerd and Brainerd Public Utilities!

The solar array, designed by Winkelman Solar Developers and installed by Wolf Track Energy is located on the rooftop of the Rotary Riverside Park Pavilion. The project represents a visible and lasting investment in renewable energy and long-term sustainability for the Brainerd community. The system is projected to produce approximately 225,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity over its 25-year lifespan!

Brainerd Public Utilities will utilize the power generated by the solar array to help reduce electric costs for the City of Brainerd, creating long-term savings for local
taxpayers while demonstrating leadership in clean energy adoption.

Grateful the goats are back at Rotary Park in Brainerd! Thank you!

The goats are back at Rotary Park in Brainerd! In an effort to control invasive weeds, goats are eating away at the problem. We partnered with Brainerd Noon Rotary Club , City of Brainerd , Great River Greening, and Brainerd Lakes Goats to bring 50 goats to graze about 16 acres of buckthorn at the park throughout the summer. Stop by to visit them!
