SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

Outrage, NFP has been asked to look into who owns the land on Career Center Rd. by the solar farm and the ComEd substation areas where Village of Bourbonnais Mayor Keast, pictured, no glasses, was contacted about a possible data center. Keast said he had been contacted by someone about putting a data center in that area but NOT an actual data center firm.

Guess who owns a lot of land in that area, 480.5 acres? We should have known!! Yes, the former Manteno Mayor and Economic Alliance CEO, Tim Nugent/his family. Just like all the farm land they already sold to the Chinese Communist Party tied Gotion company, west of their plant, at $90,000 per acre, 8 times the market value, Nugent’s family plan on making a killing with the 480.5 acres of farmland they own on Career Center Rd. just north of the solar farm and ComEd substation. https://gotionlandgrab.com/

The 480.5 acres are several parcels. Some are listed as being owned by Nugent Farms, LLC and the Keven J. Nugent Trust.

In our opinion, Tim Nugent, pictured with glasses, used his positions as mayor of Manteno and the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County CEO to enrich himself and his family and friends with the help of the Kankakee County RINO Party led county board. Using insider information and his power as the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County CEO to push development in the direction of his family’s massive holdings some of which was purchased with information the public or the sellers were never told.

Now it looks like Nugent wants Keast to go along with a data center perhaps marketed to data center developers by commercial realtor Jeff Bennett who is part of the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County. Wonder what Village of Bourbonnais Mayor Keast is being promised?

Right in front of the Solar farm, 59 acres are owned by Sunshine Limited Partnership of Lombard, likely associated with the solar farm listed as being leased, 21 acres, by McGee Solar, LLC in Santa Monica, California.

Another 140 acres is listed as being owned by Municipal Bank Trust 0752

Yes, as they say Kankakee County is a little Cook (Crook County)

Data Centers paving over some of the best farmland in the world in the Midwest may already be outdated. Will solve noise and other issues that large data centers create. Will pay homeowners monthly rent instead of taxes or kickbacks to politicians/government to locate. The problem is China is racing to have AI and they will build superior weapons than us and use AI to beat us anyway they can so unfortunately the U.S. must compete. This company shows there are smarter ways then the present one. China's AI will spy on all of us. We need AI to block them.

Span claims consumers can slash their energy and internet bills by installing a miniature 'distributed data center' in their own homes.

Update: About 100 people showed up to last night’s Village of Bourbonnais board meeting to ask Mayor Keast and the trustees to NOT allow data centers within the village.

Keast said they were approached by someone, he would not say who, and asked if the village was interested in the land off of Career Center Rd. by the solar farm becoming a data center. Keast told the audience it was NOT a data center company but someone who would market that area to data center companies. Sounds like to us a commercial realtor like Jeff Bennett, yes that Jeff Bennett. The guy who tried to make the old Cigna building on Route 45 as a residence/dormitory for the 80 to 100 Chinese Communist Party Nationalist who work at the Chinese Communist Party tied Gotion plant in Manteno. We have no proof it was Jeff Bennett asking about Bourbonnais interest in a data center but it sure sounds like him given his history.

Keast seem to us to be pushing the crowd to put a referendum on the ballot to give the village Home Rule. ( After the meeting, Keast told me he was not pushing for Home Rule. Lets hope so but we must be watchful.) I spoke up loudly to let the public know what they were NOT being told which was Home Rule is the last thing the voters should give Bourbonnais since Home Rule authority would give the Village unlimited taxing ability. It would circumvent the current Tax Cap law in place in Kankakee County for the village portion of the property tax bill. Meaning the village could raise property taxes as much as they want. Raise sales taxes to any level they want without referendum or create any new taxes they want without referendum.

Even if you trust Keast to not do that, future mayors and trustees cannot be trusted. By the way giving the Village of Bourbonnais Home Rule authority does not mean the Village cannot be sued for turning down a data center as was being told to the public by Keast.

The village at anytime can put advisory referendums on the ballot without Home Rule on any subject. Something they should have done before they added $19,000,000 of debt plus interest for the park behind the Municipal Center, the last green space from the farm that was once there is now gone.

Important!
Just a reminder of what Bourbonnais Mayor Jeff Keast is also up to. Buying a home with taxpayer dollar on West Marsile up the street from the Dairy Queen across the street from the old Robert Frost school for $275,000 from Ascher Enterprise who purchased the house for $109,000 in 2018. A 252% profit in 8 years. The current appraised value is No more than $184,000 according to a realtor who contacted us with the appraisal.

Funny how when spending taxpayer dollars paying way over appraised value is OK. Bet he would not do that with his own money!

What is the official reason being told to the public? It is for a new walking/biking path to the new $19,000,000 plus interest park (boondoggle park) behind the Municipal Center. Seems the sidewalk from the Dairy Queen along 102 is not good enough.

Keast says a big project is coming to West Marsile area. Olivet who owns the old Robert Frost School building in that area and for some reason they need a new special multimillion dollar walking/biking path maybe for a new dorm building? If not Olivet than who would be building in that area and wants a multimillion-dollar new path at taxpayer expense having the taxpayers paying 1.5 times the market appraised value of the home at 167 W. Marsile? See the documents with this post.

Thirteen states failed to receive clean audit opinions in the 2026 Financial Transparency Score report, raising concerns about government accountability, financial reporting accuracy, and taxpayer transparency.

Base pay for lawmakers jumped from $98,304 to $101,405, a 3.2% increase. That’s on top of per diem pay for days when lawmakers are asked to attend work in Springfield and mileage associated with their travel. Only three other states pay their lawmakers more!

Additionally, the pool of money used to pay stipends for leadership positions and committee chairmen was also boosted by $3.2%. Constitutional officers got a pay bump, too.

Illinois lawmakers’ late-night budget sets a new spending record financed by more tax hikes on the final day of legislative session.

Please listen at the 6-minute mark of today’s Chicago AM 560 The Real Story radio show with Jeanne Ives and Amy Jacobson. Their special guess is Village of Manteno Freedom Party Trustee Mike Barry.

Barry talks about the recent forensic audit which showed under former Manteno Mayor Tim Nugent there were insider contracts, political banking ties, unchecked spending and the lack of proper accounting and many more financial “irregularities”. They refer to the very good article done by the Kankakee Times on the audit details. Read it here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18s2EVaBUK/

Barry also talked about the Chinese Communist Party tied Gotion lies to the community, Pritzker's and Nugent tax giveaways to Gotion along with the fact Gotion is employing 80 to 100 people from out of the country, mostly from China. He also talked about Nugent’s family and friends having their farmland purchased for $90,000 per acre about 8 times the market value by Gotion with the Millions of taxpayer dollars given to them. https://gotionlandgrab.com/
