It’s ! We visited our favorite indy bookstore and met Chicago based, LGBTQ author, and picked up a copy of one of his novels, Gay Bash, for the Network resource library! Gay Bash is Collins first novel and takes place in Chicago. Stop by Rubber Rose today and meet David and check out the rest of his lineup of novels and of course, celebrate Independent Bookstore Day! Check out this novel and many others at our resource library in HQ!

What an extraordinary day celebrating local libraries, q***r authorship, trans kids, and community! We welcomed author Nico Lang to Kankakee County! Nico’s book American Teenagers is a beautiful story of several transgender young people and their resilience! The network donated copies of the books to local libraries, then hosted a special evening with Nico talking about the book and its journey to get here! There are now signed copies of this important book at your local library, the Networks Community Resource Library and in several homes around our community! All of this was made possible by grant funding from Blue Impact grant!
