We had a blast celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week at the Summit Care Center, our skilled nursing and long-term care community. Inspired by the “Moments in Bloom” theme, each day brought something new—fun, connection, and plenty of smiles! A huge shoutout to our incredible Community Life team for putting together such a fun and memorable week.

And, big appreciation to our incredible clinical and nursing team! We were proud to celebrate you on National Nurses Day! We're thankful for the compassion, expertise, and dedication they bring to their work every day.

Following LeadingAge's three-day Leadership Summit, board chair Christie Hinrichs, president and CEO of Frasier, shares reflections on what it means to lead–at all levels–in aging services organizations, during this time of real challenges.

“What stayed with me most,” she says of meeting members while in Washington, DC, “is the strength and spirit of this community.” In the work done, the advocacy undertaken, together, “we are not just responding to what comes next in aging services, we are helping to shape it.” She explains how in this latest video message to LeadingAge members.

Faces of Frasier: Resident Edition! Meet Jan, who has been a part of the Frasier community for just under a year. Shaped by a family of entrepreneurs, physicists, and artists, Jan learned early the importance of finding meaningful work. With a background in law, banking, and ministry, she has spent her life learning and building thoughtful connections.

Quick Q&A with Jan:
Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
A: I would go back to New Zealand. The environment and the people are wonderful, I like the fact that there are more sheep than people. The year we were there, they were filming the Hobbit!

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A: The ability to read minds. Communication is so central to so much of what we do, and very often, we guess what people are thinking, and we guess wrong.

Q: What’s something new you’ve tried at Frasier?
A: Pottery, in the clay studio. Barbara is wonderful, very patient and non-judgmental. I will never be a world-class potter, but since I live in my head for all my professional life, it’s really nice to do something with my hands.
