🐝Come join the buzz at Pollinator Fest tomorrow! 🦋

This annual event is hosted by and . We’ll be set up with fun, pollinator-themed activities celebrating the important role these special beings play in our ecosystems.

There’ll bee (get it?) food, beautiful gardens, organizations doing amazing work in our community, and activities for the whole family. Best of all — it’s FREE!

Come by and see us at 🪲Pollinator Fest🐝 this weekend! Executive Director Laura and Basecamp Manager Giovanny will be tabling all day with pollinator-themed activities, information and giveaways. Plus, is a gorgeous place to spend a springtime Saturday! 🦋🦋🦋

What a fun and powerful week backpacking the Ozette Triangle with the 8th grade class from in !

Highlights from four unforgettable nights on the trail:
🐋 Sightings of sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, and even a pod of whales
🦀 Becoming expert crab catchers
🏆 Endless laughs playing Yee-Haw, Fox Tails, and Bat and Moth — with Vaughn & Benjamin earning the title of 2026 Yee-Haw Champions
🌲 Learning about Makah history and culture at the Cape Alava Bone Hut & Ozette Indian Village Archaelogical Site
🌀 Spending up to 6 hours alone in sit spots on the beach, listening deeply to ourselves and the land

Throughout the journey, students reflected on questions like: ✨Who am I? ✨Who has tended me? ✨What keeps me from being my full self? ✨How can I step into challenge? ✨What can I offer my community?

So much courage, curiosity, playfulness, reflection and care woven into one remarkable week together. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to witness these young people growing into themselves and the transitions ahead. Next up — high school! 🤘🏽💕

There are still a few spots left in Call to Adventure: a week-long backpacking trip on the coast of the Olympic National Forest for youth ages 10-12. Thank you students! Thanks to the help of 7th & 11th Grade students from the Overlake School, RoPJ basecamp is spiffed up and ready for the 2026 Summer Season! For their annual Service Day, these student volunteers helped us clean our outdoor kitchen, organize our gear and maintain our trails. We are so grateful for their help and thrilled to welcome young people back to Basecamp!

We are looking for a Basecamp Logistics Intern for our 2026 Summer season. This is a seasonal position from June 17-Sept. 4th, 2026. Our intern will have opportunities to learn all about program support, curriculum development, and logistics for outdoor recreation as well as attending our Youth Rite of Passage Leadership Training and Staff Training free of charge and will receive a $1500 stipend for the Summer.
