This evening Northshore Education Association (NSEA) members approved two-year contracts with the district for both Certificated Educators and Education Support Professionals. The new agreements reflect months of thoughtful discussion and our shared commitment to supporting Northshore educators, our students, and their families. Thank you to everyone who participated in the bargaining process. We look forward to welcoming back students next week and a great 2026-27 school year!

Union solidarity doesn't stop at your own local. It means showing up for our union siblings, too.

Early this morning, NSEA ESP Vice President and NEA ESP of the Year Ric Calhoun, along with NSEA President Lauren Dandridge, joined members of SESPA at a rally in Shoreline to stand in solidarity as they fight for a fair contract.

SESPA Co-President Mario Orallo and Co-President Heather Hahn (unfortunately not pictured), leading the charge for the educators and support professionals they represent.

When one union stands up, we all stand stronger. Together, we fight for respect, dignity, and fair contracts for all workers.

BARGAINING UPDATE

At 11:00 a.m. this morning, NSEA President Lauren Dandridge and Certificated Vice President Talia Rich stood in solidarity as they rejoined the rest of the bargaining team at the table with Northshore School District administration.

Meanwhile, Education Support Professional Vice President Ric Calhoun has stepped away from the bargaining team to begin organizing, energizing, and, if necessary, mobilizing NSEA members should the district continue to ignore what our union has been saying all along:

Every member matters.

The educators who work most closely with students deserve fair pay. Our schools deserve proper librarian staffing. Employees working in our most overloaded classrooms deserve the support, recognition, and compensation that reflects the critical work they do every day.

NSEA remains united and committed to securing a contract that respects all educators and the essential role they play in supporting student success.

When we stand together, we are stronger together.

📢 Bargaining Update

NSEA President Lauren Dandridge rallied the bargaining team today as we prepared to head back to the table with Northshore School District administration.

After spending the last three days at the table we remain far apart on reaching a tentative agreement, we have made some movement, and we remain hopeful that the district will recognize what our members know every day: our work matters.

The educators and education support professionals of Northshore are the foundation of student success. They deserve fair wages, meaningful support, and the resources needed to ensure every student gets what they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are committed to continuing the work, advocating for our members, and fighting for a contract that reflects the value they bring to our schools and community every single day.
