"This experience will help [our] organization, as my colleagues have gained new skills and I can continue to support [them] throughout their journey," said Azucena Barrios, a local education organizer and workshop participant.

Through its AT&T Connected Learning Center, supported by the Hispanic Federation, Digital NEST is offering digital literacy workshops designed for parents, adult English language learners, and staff from local nonprofits.

By equipping organizers like Azucena and team with essential digital tools, Digital NEST is strengthening the very organizations that support families every single day. In parallel, World Education, a JSI initiative, equips and strengthens community organizations like Digital NEST that host AT&T Connected Learning Centers with professional development opportunities for staff, tailored coaching, and a community of practice for sharing and learning together.

In Northern Benin, we leveraged consecutive Darwin Initiative-funded programs to partner with youth leaders in community transformation.

For example, by shifting from isolated agroforestry plot management to a cooperative, community-led model, we’ve achieved significant results:

- Successfully restored 9.5 hectares of degraded land.
- Women-led microenterprises generated 1,180,000 FCFA in revenue.
- Established Natural Resource Management Committees across 5 villages with 150 members.

Additionally, through local research and data collection, young researchers are actively reshaping the future of agroforestry. Their insights are expanding adaptive, climate-resilient farming systems from the ground up. Strong local partnerships and sustainable, community-driven solutions are at the center of advancing learning worldwide.

At World Education, a JSI initiative, we are strengthening education systems to adapt to social, economic, and technological shifts by using learner-centered solutions.

In Côte d’Ivoire, we are building on a long-term partnership to improve education and reduce child labor risks. Our success depends on a holistic approach.

“Improved learning occurs when school leadership, empowered teachers, and engaged communities work together to turn shared accountability into measurable outcomes,” says Adam Turney, Education Systems and Youth Development Practice Director.
