Update from Alex Cornacchini:

After nearly 7 years of leading Allston Village Main Streets, I will be stepping down from my role as Executive Director on July 10th. Since August 5th, 2019, it's been the honor of a lifetime to be trusted with the leadership of this organization, and to work with and represent such an amazing neighborhood. Allston is a one of a kind community, and I’ve been proud to work towards making it a more vibrant, interesting place. We've done some tremendous things over the years, and I cannot wait to see what’s to come. I know the future will be bright.

I won't be too far away, I'm joining the team at the Central Square BID, and will still be around Allston to help with the Rat City Arts Fest, Clean Yo Block, the Taste of Allston, and more great events!

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual whose dedication, passion, and lifelong commitment have deeply shaped the fabric of our community.🌸

Rose Hanlon, has an extraordinary legacy in Allston-Brighton as the director of the Jackson Mann Community Center, the first president of the Allston-Brighton Chamber of Commerce, and a former Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets, alongside her lifelong advocacy for kids, small businesses, and community traditions. Known for her tireless spirit once dubbed “Rosie the Riveter” by Mayor Tom Menino she continues to be a driving force for good in the neighborhood, and we are proud to celebrate her! 💖

Allston-Brighton is filled with an incredible community of artists who bring color, creativity, and energy to every corner of the neighborhood.
We’re lucky to collaborate with so many of them across our marketing, logo and event design, and public art projects. 🎨

This year, we’re proud to recognize our most prolific artist, , who has painted four murals around the neighborhood over the past year always with a smile and her dog Gordo by her side. ✨🐶

The Allston Spirit Award celebrates individuals who reflect the vibrant energy and strong community spirit that define Allston. 🤩 This year’s winner is deeply connected to the local music scene as the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Allston Pudding, a leading voice in Boston’s music and culture coverage. is also a consistent presence at neighborhood advocacy meetings, where she supports efforts centered on renters, workers, immigrants, and those often overlooked.

Here’s to our 2026 Nonprofit of the Year, ! This award recognizes organizations whose dedication and service create a lasting impact in our community, and Project Place has done exactly that for decades by helping individuals gain the skills, education, and support needed to secure employment and housing.

Their work not only changes lives across Boston, but also directly supports Allston through their street cleaning program, helping keep our neighborhood vibrant and welcoming.
