Earlier this year, Revels lost a dear friend in George Emlen, Revels' longtime Music Director. This fall, we will be honoring him the way we know best – through music. The theme of our Fall 2026 Revels Singers season will be based on George's favorite pieces, including his personal arrangements and compositions, as well as pieces included from the shows that George music directed. Another highlight will be Blue Hills by Megan Henderson, a piece written in honor of George’s legacy.

This season of Revels singers begins on Wednesday, September 2, with rehearsals running weekly on Wednesdays from 7-9 PM through November 11 (no rehearsal September 30). We are thrilled to announce the inaugural winners of the Unsung Reveler Award - Paul Buckley and Lakshmi Nayak! These Unsung Revelers exemplify the Revels spirit of cooperation, positivity, collaboration, community, and connection. Time and time again, these individuals perform above and beyond, with a song in their hearts.

Lakshmi Nayak is a familiar face on stage, but her impact goes well beyond the spotlight. She volunteers at nearly every event, shows up early to set up our all-day chorus rehearsals, and often opens her home to housing cast members, performers, and friends. Lakshmi, thank you for being the ultimate community member.

Paul Buckley is our man behind the lens, photographing just about everything we do. Midwinter Revels, pub sings, RiverSing—you name it. Every internal planning meeting includes the question, "Jen, have you contacted Paul yet?" Our only challenge is the fact that we have thousands of beautifully curated photographs to go through every time we need just one! We are so grateful to Paul for his time, helpfulness, and incredible talent.

We are so grateful to Paul and Lakshmi, and to the hundreds of volunteers who make our community what it is. You make us sing!

David Story might have found Revels in a very unique way, but seventeen years later, he is a constant and celebrated member of our Revels community. Always volunteering for an event, or visiting our office to help with any mundane task, David is our go-to “yes man” and a huge help to all of us! Today is the Longest Day, the Summer Solstice! As the seasons turn and summer begins, Revels wishes everyone a beautiful and bright solstice day.

We are also very excited to celebrate the solstice tonight with the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture! The FREE festivities kick off at 5 PM, and Revels is thrilled to be presenting a program of singing, dancing, and joy with special guests David Coffin, Good Trouble Brass Band, Tom Pixton, Sammy Wetstein, Mariachi Estrellas de Boston, Jen Schoonover, and Timeless Rhythm Dance Troupe. Join Revels and the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture for a fun-filled celebration of the Summer Solstice, TOMORROW beginning at 5 PM!

Revels is excited to return to Harvard Square with an exciting program of singing, dancing, and puppetry! Come join in this FREE event on the Longest Day this Sunday, June 21, with festivities beginning at 5 PM. Featured performances include our friends from Good Trouble Brass Band, a singalong with David Coffin, the beautiful Timeless Rhythm Dance Troupe, an amazing set by Mariachi Estrellas de Boston, and a dance-along Ceilidh, featuring musicians Tom Pixton and Sammy Wetstein, as well as dancer/choreographer Jen Schoonover.

Explore the rest of the festivities, including free admission to the galleries and new exhibitions at the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture. Step outdoors to enjoy live music and performers, play lawn games, and make a flower crown. Ice cream, beverages, and food will be available for purchase from food trucks. Don’t miss out on this popular event for all ages!

Free event parking at the 52 Oxford Street Garage starting at 4:30 pm. Divinity Avenue will be closed to traffic during the event. In case of rain, the museums will remain open and a select number of activities will be available. Please check the HMSC website for details. Today, watch the World Cup with your friends at Revels in Harvard Square at the HSBA Watch Party and International Peace and Pep Rally! Revels is bringing along our fantastic Artist-in-Residence, David Coffin, to lead us in joyous song. After the singing, watch the Iraq-Norway game on a giant screen in Brattle Square, and then stick around for a post-game Lord of the Dance with the Pinewoods Morris Men. Don't miss the beer and wine gardens, performances from Dirty Water Brass Band and Good Trouble Brass Band, special Iraqi and Norwegian snacks, and more!

Auditions for the 2026 Midwinter Revels Chorus begin TOMORROW and go through the weekend! Limited audition slots remain, so make sure to sign up today and tell your friends - don't miss your chance to join this unforgettable Cambridge tradition.

Auditioners of all ages and experience levels are welcome to sing! We are looking for performers for our children's chorus (ages 7-12) and adult chorus (ages 16+) who can create a realistic and diverse multi-generational village on stage. Revels is excited to announce open auditions for AEA and Non-Union actors for paid lead roles in the 2026 Midwinter Revels! Roles are open for actors of all ages and backgrounds. Come join in a Boston tradition 56 years in the making!

Auditions will be held on Monday, June 15, at St. Paul's Choir School (29 Mt Auburn St, Cambridge), and actors will sign up for a 5-minute time slot between 7-10 PM. They will be expected to prepare a 60-90 second monologue and perform cold reads from the script. All actors auditioning for the roles of Marya and John Patrick will also be expected to attend a dance call between 6-7 PM. Actors may bring in a short a capella section of a classical or folk song if they wish.
