Thanks to our generous donors and the amazing  work of our volunteers, we were able to collect a huge supply of essential home goods through our 2026 Home Goods Drive!

Check out some cute tea cup donations we received recently! From lamps to kitchen items from toys to bedding essentials -  home goods donations can really transform an empty apartment into a home for families transitioning from homelessness into stable housing. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our 2026 Home Goods Drive an incredible success!

With the support of nearly 40 dedicated volunteers, we were able to organize our backlogs of donations, transport furniture throughout Greater Boston, and support more families during their transition into welcoming, comfortable, and safe homes. We could not have accomplished all we did without the support of our Drive Captains, Business and Congregation Partners who rallied their communities and collected an incredible amount of home goods; our Home Goods Sorters who carefully inventoried and organized that amazing influx of donations; and our Drive Chauffeurs who expanded our reach by picking up and transporting home goods from across the Boston area.

We continue to be inspired by the energy, generosity, and dedication of our volunteer community and thank them for making such a big difference in the lives of the families we serve. We are filled with gratitude!

🌼Furnishing Hope Spring Home Goods Drive Update 🌼

While our 2026 Home Goods Drive officially ended on May 4th, we’re still receiving an incredible flow of donations from our Captains, individual home goods donors, and Business and Congregation Partners. We don’t have a final tally just yet on what our Drive brought in, however, we wanted to update our community on the remarkable impact of their generosity. To date:

- We’ve already received more bath towels during this drive than we did in all of last year!

- We’ve collected 50 sheet sets so far, meaning 50 more children and adults will have clean comfortable bedding, and a better night’s sleep!

- We’ve gathered enough kitchen and dinnerware to fully equip over 25 families with essential cookware and dining items.

And that’s just the beginning! We’ve also received toiletries, lamps, curtains, small kitchen appliances, and so much more. Our volunteer team also continues to be hard at work. Sorters are carefully inventorying and organizing all incoming items, while our Chauffeurs are transporting donations to and from our office.

We are deeply grateful to all of you who have supported, and are still supporting, our 2026 Home Goods Drive. Your commitment is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of the families we serve.

In the face of challenging times, we’re taking inspiration from the powerful community of nonprofit organizations that are in Cambridge and beyond. We’re one of 157 nonprofits who received a grant this spring from Community Foundation. This funding will help us to continue providing Boston area families with the essential home goods and furniture they need as they work to rebuild their lives after homelessness. Through Furnishing Hope's "Honor A Mother By Helping A Mother" campaign, you can make a huge difference in the life of a mother and her family by providing the essential home goods and furniture they need as they transition from a homeless or domestic violence shelter into stable housing.

For all gift donations received by 11 pm on Saturday, May 9th, we’ll send a personalized Mother’s Day e-card to your mother (or any other honoree you wish) to let her know about your thoughtful gift. Your Mother's Day gift will make it possible for Furnishing Hope to provide a mother and her family with the furniture and home goods they desperately need. This gift will not only make a huge difference in a family’s day-to-day life, but will go a long way to helping restore their dignity, sense of self, and security. Help us fill our shelves! Are you getting ready to do some spring cleaning? You're in luck! Our Spring Home Goods Drive has officially started! Thank you so much to everyone who has signed up to volunteer so far and to those who have already donated.
