Sometimes, a pathway begins with a moment like this.

A student standing in front of others.
A project to explain.
An idea to share.
A room full of possibilities.

They represent a student who had the opportunity to explore, create, learn and share what they discovered.

And that's why hands-on STEM experiences matter.

Because STEM education isn't only about knowing the right answer. It's about having the opportunity to ask questions, solve problems, build something, test an idea, and then have the confidence to stand up and say:
"Here's what I discovered."

Today, on International Day of the Girl, we celebrate girls who are curious enough to ask why, brave enough to experiment, and determined enough to imagine a future in STEM. 💡

For too long, girls have been underrepresented across many STEM fields. But when girls have access to hands-on learning, mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities to explore, they can begin to see themselves not just as students of STEM, but as the people who will shape its future.

At The Pathway Initiative, we’re committed to helping make that vision a reality. Through hands-on STEM programs, mentorship, and exposure to real-world career pathways, we give young people opportunities to learn, build, experiment, and discover what’s possible.

And every time a girl steps into a lab, builds something with her own hands, asks a bold question, or says, “I want to be a scientist,” we’re reminded why this work matters. 🧪🧬🚀

From guiding students through hands-on STEM learning to helping shape the programs and partnerships that create those opportunities, Lauren brings curiosity, knowledge, and a passion for student success to everything she does.

As a STEM tutor, she doesn’t just teach students what to learn; she encourages them to ask questions, explore possibilities, solve problems, and see themselves as future scientists, innovators, and leaders.

In fact, the earlier the connection, the greater the opportunity to learn, ask questions, build confidence, and see what’s possible.
