🎉 100 MEMBERS STRONG! 🎉

What an exciting milestone for THRIVE Rotary of Bloomington-Normal — we have officially installed our 100th member! 💙💛

When THRIVE began, our goal was to create a Rotary club where people could build meaningful connections, serve our community, and make a real difference together. Reaching 100 members is a pretty incredible reminder of just how much our community believes in that mission.

We are so grateful for every member who has helped us grow, volunteer, serve, and THRIVE!

Please help us welcome our 100th member to the THRIVE family! 🎊

BELONG. SERVE. THRIVE.

🌽 THRIVE Rotary at the Sweet Corn Circus! 🌽

What a great weekend of community, service, and connection at the Sweet Corn Circus in Uptown Normal!

A special thank you to Illinois State University’s Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority for their generous donation to THRIVE Rotary of Bloomington-Normal. ❤️

And, of course, a huge thank you to our amazing THRIVE volunteers who showed up, pitched in, and helped make the weekend such a success. This is what Rotary is all about—people coming together, having fun, and giving back.

Together, we THRIVE! 💙💛

What a great night with THRIVE Rotary! 💙💛

Our mixer at Rob Dobs Restaurant was filled with good food, great conversations, lots of laughs, and the kind of connections that make our club so special.

THRIVE Rotary is about more than meetings — it’s about building friendships, supporting our community, and bringing together people who want to make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a big thank-you to Rob Dobs for hosting us! We’re already looking forward to the next one.

Today at Bloomington-Normal THRIVE Rotary, we were honored to welcome Lyn Hruska, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Serving Central Illinois, as our guest speaker.

Lyn shared that our community—and our nation—is currently facing a critical blood shortage. Every blood donation has the power to save lives, and the need for donors has never been greater.

She also introduced us to the American Red Cross’s annual fundraiser, Evening of Stars, taking place September 9 at Illinois State University. This year’s featured guest and keynote speaker is Tim Tebow. If you’re interested in attending or supporting this incredible event, you can learn more here:

A special thank you to Lyn for also teaching our club Hands-Only CPR. It’s an easy skill to learn that can make a life-saving difference in an emergency. Everyone learned as you can see from the photos below!

Thank you, Lyn, for an informative and inspiring presentation, and for all that the American Red Cross does for our community every day.

From our President, Julie Dobski:

Today, about 10 members of the Bloomington-Normal Thrive Rotary Club had the opportunity to volunteer at the Midwest Food Bank. What an inspiring experience!

I was amazed by how much good is accomplished with and an incredible team of dedicated volunteers. The amount of food that is sorted and distributed to many organizations is truly remarkable, and hearing how grateful those organizations are for the support they receive was both humbling and inspiring.

It was a wonderful reminder that a few hours of volunteering can make a real difference in the lives of so many people. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, I highly encourage spending a morning or afternoon volunteering at the Midwest Food Bank. You’ll leave with a grateful heart and a deeper appreciation for the impact they make every day.

To my fellow Thrive Rotarians—thank you for showing up and serving our community. I only wish I had remembered to take a group picture! We’ll definitely have to do that next time. ❤️
