The U.S. House has passed the Local Communities & Bird Habitat Stewardship Act (H.R. 3276), which would establish a grant program to fund community-led bird conservation projects in urban areas. The Act would provide a dedicated funding source for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Urban Bird Treaty program. This program fosters collaboration between USFWS and cities across the country to restore bird habitats, reduce threats to birds, and educate the public on bird conservation.
Now its time for the U.S. Senate. Contact your US Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith; ask for their support for the companion Senate bill.

Sign Audubon's petition in support of the Roadless Rule continuation. The rule prohibits industrial logging and most roadbuilding within intact areas of our public forests while allowing for active management to mitigate fire risk, ensure community safety, and maintain healthy habitat.
