We know...change is inevitable. Progress is important. Some things just can’t stay the same.
As we watch the Bloomington Clock Tower come down in our city, we must stop and thank all those local community members who came together with a vision larger than themselves — to create community and to honor the history of this great city.
These individuals spoke to family, friends and neighbors. They walked the streets sharing their vision and raising the necessary funding. They persevered to make it a reality.
As a group who has worked on a community project for 8+ years, we can relate to this mission. While its removal is likely necessary, it is also a bit bittersweet.
Today, we are thanking all those who were a part of the construction of our Bloomington Clock Tower and wishing them peace in this transition. May we all remember the dedication and sentiment at the center of this landmark, and may the next chapter at this site be equally as inspiring.
