A MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT: STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BOSASO UNIVERSITY – GAROWE AND GLOBAL HEALTH ALLIANCE (GHA)

Global Health Alliance (GHA) and University of Bosaso – Garowe have reached an important milestone through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a framework for collaboration in healthcare innovation, professional development, and capacity building.

This partnership aims to strengthen the skills and knowledge of health professionals across Somalia through joint initiatives, evidence-based medical education, professional training, research, and innovative healthcare solutions.

Through this collaboration, GHA and University of Bosaso -Garowe are committed to contributing to a stronger, more skilled, and better-equipped healthcare workforce capable of improving the quality of healthcare services and maternal and newborn health outcomes across Somalia.

GHA DYNAMED & DYNAMIC HEALTH TRAINING – PART FOUR

Garowe, 28 October 2026: Following the successful completion of the Essential Newborn Care (E&C) Training Programme, the Global Health Alliance (GHA) continued its healthcare capacity-building initiative by introducing participants to the DynaMed & Dynamic Health Training Programme in Garowe, Puntland State of Somalia.

The training focused on equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively use DynaMed and Dynamic Health as evidence-based clinical information resources. Participants were introduced to accessing reliable medical information, strengthening clinical knowledge, supporting informed decision-making, and improving the quality of patient care.

This programme forms part of GHA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening medical education, enhancing the professional capacity of healthcare workers, and promoting evidence-based healthcare practices across Puntland and Somalia.

Through these integrated training programmes, GHA continues to contribute to improved healthcare services and better health outcomes for communities across Somalia.

GHA GRADUATION CEREMONY OFFICIAL PHOTO HIGHLIGHTS – PART THREE

Garowe, 28 October 2026: The Global Health Alliance (GHA) Graduation Ceremony continued with the official presentation of certificates to 115 healthcare professionals who successfully completed and benefited from the various training programmes conducted by GHA in Garowe, Puntland State of Somalia.

The certificate presentation marked an important milestone in recognising the dedication, participation, and successful completion of the specialised training courses by healthcare professionals from different health institutions and regions across Somalia.

The beneficiaries received certificates in recognition of their participation in capacity-building programmes, including Essential Newborn Care (ENC), Helping Mothers and Babies Survive (HMBS), and DynaMed & Dynamic Health training, which were designed to strengthen clinical knowledge, improve professional competencies, and promote evidence-based healthcare practices.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of the healthcare professionals and reaffirmed GHA’s commitment to investing in human resource development, advancing medical education, and strengthening the quality of healthcare services in Somalia.

Global Health Alliance congratulates all 115 graduates on successfully completing the training programme and encourages them to apply the knowledge and skills gained to improve healthcare delivery and serve their communities.

HEALTHCARE CAPACITY-BUILDING TRAINING & INSTITUTIONAL ENGAGEMENTS

Garowe, Puntland, Somalia | 24–29 October 2026

Successfully Completed

1. Overview

Global Health Alliance (GHA) successfully conducted a six-day healthcare capacity-building training from 24 to 29 October 2026, bringing together 115 healthcare professionals from different health institutions.

The program aimed to strengthen clinical competencies, promote evidence-based healthcare practices, and improve maternal and newborn healthcare services.

2. Training Areas

The training covered four major components:

* Essential Newborn Care (ENC 1 & 2)
* Helping Mothers Survive and Helping Babies Survive
* DynaMed: Evidence-based clinical decision-support resources.
* Dynamic Health: Practical clinical and nursing education resources.

3. Institutional Visits

During the mission, GHA conducted institutional visits and engagements with five major institutions:

* Bosaso University
* East Africa University
* Puntland State University
* Garowe General Hospital
* Go-Nugal Maternity Hospital

These engagements focused on strengthening partnerships, exploring future collaborations, and promoting healthcare education and service delivery.

4. Ministry of Health Support and Appreciation

The Puntland Ministry of Health played a key role in supporting and facilitating the successful implementation of the training.

GHA particularly acknowledges:

GHA ESSENTIAL NEWBORN CARE (E&C) TRAINING – PART FOUR

Garowe, 28 October 2026: The Global Health Alliance (GHA) continued its Essential Newborn Care (E&C) Training Programme in Garowe, Puntland State of Somalia, with participants engaging in practical demonstrations designed to strengthen their clinical skills and knowledge.

During this session, participants practised essential maternal and newborn care procedures, including practical demonstrations on managing postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), a serious complication that can occur after childbirth. The session emphasized the importance of proper clinical techniques, timely intervention, and the effective use of medical training equipment to enhance healthcare professionals’ preparedness to manage childbirth-related complications.

Through these practical sessions, GHA continues to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals and promote safer childbirth, improved maternal health, and better newborn survival outcomes across Puntland and Somalia.
