The mission of Safe Kids is to prevent childhood injuries

We are dedicated to keeping our kids safe and protect them from preventable injuries.

Lets work together at keeping our kids safe! Safe Kids Worldwide is a global nonprofit dedicated to protecting kids from preventable injuries, the number one cause of death to children in the United States and a global epidemic around the world. Safe Kids works with more than 400 network members in the U.S. and partners in 33 countries to keep kids safe at home, on the road and at play. We educate families, raise awareness, create safer environments and advocate for improved laws to protect children.

Did you know? Many baby products are not meant for sleep and can increase the risk of suffocation. If your baby falls asleep anywhere other than their safe sleep space, move them to their crib as soon as possible. Safe sleep saves lives.

Babies don’t come with instruction manuals!
Do you have a plan for what to do in the middle of the night when they just won’t sleep? Or what if someone comes to help and lays baby down in an unsafe space?
Having these conversations before baby arrives can make sure that baby sleeps safely every time! www.charlieskids.org is a great website and has many resources to encourage and plan for safe sleep for every infant, every time.

Bare is Best! When it's time for baby to sleep, the crib should contain just two things:
✅ A firm mattress
✅ A fitted sheet
Everything else, including blankets, stuffed animals, pillows, and crib bumpers, should stay out of the sleep space to reduce the risk of suffocation.
Keeping the crib clear helps keep baby safe.

Did you know that bed-sharing can increase an infant's risk of SUID by as much as 4 to 10 times?
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies sleep in their own crib, bassinet, or play yard, while sharing a room with their caregiver. Keeping babies close, but on a separate sleep surface, is one of the safest sleep practices.
