NBC is reporting that menstrual product prices have skyrocketed nearly 40% since 2020, and people who menstruate are being hit from all sides: inflation, tariffs, supply chain chaos. People are buying FEWER products even as prices go up, which means period poverty here in the U.S. is very, very real.

In Ecuador, menstrual health education is creating space for understanding, confidence, and open conversation, reaching more than 4,000 people in 2025 alone.

Participants shared how learning about their bodies and menstrual health helped replace confusion with clarity. Others emphasized the importance of having these conversations openly, not just in schools, but across communities where silence and embarrassment have often limited understanding.

By pairing education with dignity-centered approaches, Days for Girls supports learning that is practical, respectful, and empowering. These voices reflect what’s possible when people are given the information and space they need to ask questions, build confidence, and move forward with greater understanding.

This is the moment when a girl at the Nigeria School for the Blind got her Days for Girls Kit. To have access to menstrual health supplies is to be remembered, seen, and included.

As part of our mission to support girls’ period health, and DfG engaged students at the School of the Blind in menstrual education and provided them with DfG washable pad Kits. 🎒

These are not just period supplies; these are tools for safety, health, and confidence.

Why it’s so important to reduce the stigma for all who menstruate.

On January 27, in Kailali, Nepal, a woman was attacked by a leopard while staying in a chhaupadi hut during her period. The 40-year-old woman, Bika, suffered serious injuries but survived the attack. 🙏

Chhaupadi is a menstrual tradition where women isolate themselves in unsafe conditions. This practice puts lives at risk, leaving women exposed to the elements and attacks by men and wild animals. 🚫

Bika’s story is heartbreaking, but it reinforces the urgent need to end menstrual stigma and ensure that all people who menstruate can manage their periods safely and with dignity. ⚠️🩸

At Days for Girls, we are working to do just that. For years, DfG Nepal has worked in Kailali, collaborating with communities to provide menstrual health education and safe, sustainable solutions. 🌏

Off we go! ✈️ 90 kits packed and ready to head to Zihuatanejo, Mexico this week! 👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏾 They will be distributed at a baby shower held for vulnerable young women, along with basic baby items and education. 👩🏽‍🍼 Hopefully I’ll have more pictures to come. 🧡🧡🧡
