For nearly 70 years, Friendship House of Christian Service has been serving the South Side of Billings and its families. Our goal is to engage, equip, and empower future generations to build a better tomorrow. Each child and family we serve comes from a different walk of life, but all seek to overcome the obstacles of poverty and lack of opportunity.
Grandma Jefferson is one person making full use of Friendship House services.
“I am a grandmother of four girls. I’ve raised the oldest since 2018, and my two younger ones came to live with us almost two years ago,” she says.
Because Friendship House offers programs for children from 6 weeks through seniors in high school. Grandma Jefferson and her family have affordable, reliable, and faith-based care for each child. Currently, her grandchildren are attending preschool, the after-school program, the summer program, and Tuesday’s teen bible study. She says that since coming to Friendship House, her girls have made noticeable improvements in their confidence, mannerisms, and maturity. She even sees the kids being kinder and more respectful towards others.
As for the impact Friendship House has had on her, Grandma Jefferson says, “I can continue working to provide for my family without worrying or stressing about who will pick them up after school or who will watch them during the summer.”
Meeting the needs of those in our community is and always has been our joy. Knowing we can be a reliable partner for families like Grandma Jefferson’s encourages us to do our best to provide the care she and her little ones deserve.
“Friendship House has been a heaven-sent in my family’s life. Without Friendship House, I would not be able to have my grandkids living with me.” Grandma Jefferson continues, “So thank you from a grateful grandma that appreciates everything you do and have done to make a BIG difference in my family’s lives.”
Give families like Grandma Jefferson’s the support they need to thrive—your gift makes the difference. 💛
