We’re celebrating Carrie Porter’s 5-year anniversary with CASA this month! 🎉❤️
Reflecting on the past year, Carrie shared what continues to ground her in this work and what she sees most clearly through her role at CASA:
“Every day, I am reminded that children, youth, and families do not need perfection, they need people who continue to show up. Whether it is a CASA advocate supporting a youth through setbacks, a parent working hard toward reunification, a foster parent providing stability, or a community partner stepping in to help, meaningful change happens through relationships.
What stands out to me most is the role that hope plays in those relationships. Hope is often what keeps people moving forward when progress feels slow, setbacks occur, or the path ahead seems uncertain. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is hold hope for a child, youth, or family until they are able to see it for themselves.” – Carrie
Carrie, thank you for the perspective, compassion, and steadiness you bring to CASA. Your focus on relationships and hope reflects the heart of this work, and we are grateful for the impact you make every day.
