This month we’re celebrating Laura Molodecki’s 6-year anniversary with CASA! 🎉

As our Marketing and Events Coordinator, Laura gets to see firsthand how much our volunteers, supporters, and community make this work possible. Reflecting on the past year, she shared what has made this time so meaningful:

“This past year has been remarkable to me, and I truly believe that is because of the people who care about and support CASA. From the incredible work our volunteers do every day, to the sponsors, donors, community, and my amazing coworkers who make this work possible, I am constantly reminded of how special CASA is. I’ve also heard more and more people talk about the work CASA is doing, including people who have had a CASA in their own lives or know someone who has served as CASA volunteer. It is incredibly rewarding to hear people recognize what we do, understand why it matters, and see the difference CASA is making for children and families in our community.

The work hasn’t gotten easier, but hearing those stories and seeing that our community understands the importance of this work makes it all worthwhile. There is something beautiful about doing hard work alongside people who are passionate about helping children and families, and I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of it.” – Laura

This month we’re celebrating Alyssia Nava’s 1-year anniversary with CASA! 🎉

Reflecting on her first year as a Program Advocate, Alyssia shared how this work has shaped her perspective and what it means to be there for the children in our local foster care system:

“Looking back on this past year at CASA, what stands out most to me is how much this work has changed me. I came into this role knowing I wanted to advocate for children, but I don’t think I fully understood how deeply I would care about the kids and families I would meet along the way.

This work has broken my heart at times, challenged me in ways I didn’t expect, and also given me some of the most meaningful moments. I’ve learned that being an advocate isn’t about having the power to change everything that has happened to a child. It’s about being the person who shows up, listens, speaks up, and refuses to let that child’s story or voice get lost.

What has stayed with me most are the little moments, the trust in a child’s eyes, a conversation they felt safe enough to have, or simply knowing that they recognized I was someone who would keep showing up for them. Those moments may seem small, but they have reminded me that consistency, compassion, and believing in a child can mean more than we realize.

This past year has reminded me that I may not be able to change a child’s entire story, but I can be a meaningful part of it. And for me, that is what makes this work so incredibly worth it.” – Alyssia

Your reflection is a powerful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful difference comes from simply showing up and being a consistent. What a day, what a turnout, and WHAT A WAY to support CASA! 🎉

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out for CASA’s 0.5K "Run", sponsored, volunteered, cheered, dressed up, and helped make this event so much fun. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for a very silly “run” with a very serious mission: helping children in foster care right here in our community find safe, permanent homes. And with 194 people signed up, this was our BIGGEST 0.5K yet!

And those costumes this year!? You all understood the assignment! 👏

This month we’re celebrating Emily Malisani’s 8-year anniversary with CASA! 🎉

Looking back on the past year, Emily reflected on the growth she has been able to witness at CASA and the people who continue to make that growth possible:

“It has been a pleasure to witness CASA's growth over the past year.

In the nonprofit world, some years are dedicated to building and growth, while others are spent weathering challenges. This year, it has been especially rewarding to see the program expand and reach more children.

As always, our volunteer Advocates are the heartbeat of this program and it's lovely to see such a determined group of people work for the improvement of our community.” – Emily
