Summer’s over but not the fun! We continue to provide a space for growth and settlement through ESL tutoring, mentorships, afterschool opportunities for children, and more. We could not do this without the help of our community volunteers and partners! If you would like to jump on board with us please reach out via our link in bio!

“In a season when many of our immigrant [neighbors]…are feeling the stresses and facing the dangers of rapidly changing immigration policies, it’s vital that the whole of the Church engage.”

The says it well in their latest article (link in bio) that one role as the Church is clear: to care for the foreigner residing among us [Lev. 19:34] through each of our unique abilities which compose one body [1 Cor. 12:12-26]. We believe each refugee is here on purpose. And we believe you are too. God is at work in Billings and we are excited to keep pursuing our role in His good plan. See the link in our bio to connect with us about how to use your unique talents to care for the refugees among us!

Here’s a sneak peak of our summer program fun so far! Because of the generosity of our community, we have been able to host a fun-filled program from 9am-2:30pm Monday through Friday to promote the integration of these Billings refugee kiddos to life here, grow their English skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships.

We have many opportunities for day-to-day volunteering with a range of commitment levels. If you’re interested in finding out more, check out the link in our bio! Happy summer! 🍉

On June 20th we celebrated World Refugee Day with a viewing of Human Flow to raise awareness about the refugee crisis that is rampant in our world. If you weren’t able to attend you can find this compelling documentary on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV.

Happy watching!

We know community plays a huge role in our daily lives and the lives of those resettling here from drastically different circumstances. We couldn’t do what we do without you Billings!

We need partners like you in order to continue supporting and equipping our refugee population for a successful integration mentally, physically, and spiritually. Have a look at the list of needs below or reach out if you have a special skill outside of this list that you would be willing to share with us!

• meals for our summer program
• one more bike!
• tutors- anyone willing to have conversations with those practicing their English
• books for school-aged children
• relationships are essential for healing- we would love to connect more Billings individuals to the amazing, resilient, brave refugees in our program

A story: one of our volunteers offered to host a bread-baking party which has now become a tradition and a beautiful environment for many refugee women to practice English, share some of their culture, and build priceless relationships with others in our community as well as those in similar situations as them.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” | 1 Peter 4:10

We recently completed our | Way to Go | initiative in hopes of resourcing local refugee students and wage earners with a source of transportation. Between donations and refurbishments, we are so thankful for volunteers young and old who helped make this happen! We are also thankful for Billings Clinic and ThinkFirst who provided helmets for our kiddos!

Because of this community’s generosity, 41 bikes were distributed to families in need. THANK YOU!

A refugee is someone forced to leave their country to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. While the US Refugee Admissions Program has been suspended for the foreseeable future, the vetting process was strenuous (US accepting a strict 0.2%), the wait was painstaking, and the resettlement was/is daunting.

Here are some facts about refugees you may not know:
• There are 42.7 million refugees*
• 40% are children*
• 73% of all refugees come from just 5 nations: Afghanistan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Sudan*

Today we at N2N honor all refugees but especially those who are resettling into our Billings community. “Refugee” is a status, not an identity so we celebrate their resilience, diligence, and bravery.
