We are so excited to share our 2025 Gratitude Report and spotlight some of our Friends and youth!

Every child deserves someone who shows up, not just once, but every single day. For Gabe, that person is his Friend (mentor), Ted. And together, they turned a summer of hard work into real, measurable growth. By the time school started, Gabe had caught up to his peers in reading, and he did it one session, one outing, one flash card at a time. This is what long-term mentorship makes possible!

Courtside with Friends, our inaugural pickleball tournament and reception, is happening September 10, 2026, and sponsorship opportunities are now open.

Today marks two years with Kirsti Brockschmidt on our team! She's a Friend (mentor) to youth in our program, and she brings a quick laugh and a deep belief in every kid she walks with.

Fun fact: Kirsti grew up in Billings as the middle of seven kids. After college in North Dakota and four years mentoring youth in Waco, Texas, she came home. We're grateful she did.

Happy Friend-A-Versary, Kirsti. Thank you for two years of steady care and for choosing this work, day in and day out.

Over the last year, second-grader Katie's reading scores have improved. But more than that, she now approaches hard things with courage. She raises her hand. She tries challenging texts. During one outing, she read aloud in a busy smoothie shop and beamed when a stranger cheered her on.

Behind every milestone is her Friend, Natasha, and the belief that Katie is capable of more.
