This week, Maple Counseling’s Board and staff attended a packing evening at Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles , preparing meals for the community—but this partnership goes far beyond volunteering.

Through this collaboration, Maple provides meals to our own clients, helping ensure that families have access to food while navigating life’s challenges. Meeting basic needs like nutrition isn’t separate from mental health care—it’s foundational to it.

Grateful to be part of work that supports the whole person.

Our hallways are filling up again as Maple welcomes 60 new trainees into our Clinical Training Program—a hands-on professional development pathway for emerging therapists and mental health practitioners focused on community-based, trauma-informed care.

Over the coming months, trainees will work alongside licensed clinicians, deepen their clinical skills through supervised practice, and learn how to provide accessible, culturally responsive mental health support to individuals and families navigating complex life experiences.

We’re grateful to be expanding this learning community and investing in the next generation of clinicians committed to care that meets people where they are.

🎂 Please join us in celebrating Michael, Chair of Maple Counseling’s Board of Directors, whose leadership, dedication, and commitment to our mission have made such a meaningful impact on our organization and community.

Michael has proudly served on Maple’s Board for 15 years, inspired by the life-changing work of providing accessible mental health care to our community. His commitment to Maple even led him to pursue a master’s degree in psychology—an incredible testament to his passion for mental health and service.
