There is just something about a scientist stranded in space trying to survive against impossible odds that really makes for a great movie night. 🚀

Don't miss Project Hail Mary at The Colonial June 5-10! Based on the novel by Andy Weir, the film follows a middle school science teacher turned unlikely astronaut on a mission to save humanity.

And while we're talking stranded scientists in space... save the date for October 8 when The Martian will be back on the big screen. 👨‍🚀

Things Renee Blacken has done:
✔️ Rowed across the Atlantic Ocean solo

Things most of us have done:
✔️ Watched from shore

On June 11, Bethlehem’s own Renee Blacken () will be at The Colonial to share the story behind her incredible Atlantic Dash journey before the screening of the Women’s Adventure Film Tour.

If you’ve followed her adventure from afar, this is your chance to hear her story and then stick around for an evening of inspiring film!

All ticketholders will be entered into a raffle for free swag!

The 2026 Reels Outdoors Series is co-sponsored by Appalachian Mountain Club (), Carlson’s Lodge (), North Country Climbing Center (), The Lawton Company, and the Trout Unlimited Ammonoosuc Chapter 554 ()

You’ve seen the references. You’ve heard about Watergate. You may even know the phrase “follow the money.” Now see the movie that made all of them part of our cultural vocabulary🕵️‍♂️

Join us this Sunday for a special Civics at the Cinema event in partnership with NHPR’s Civics 101 (), featuring the Oscar-winning All the President’s Men on the big screen.

Make an afternoon of it! Stop by our 1PM Meet the Speakers Reception, settle into your seat for the screening following a brief introduction, and then stay for a post film conversation with Civics 101 hosts Hannah McCarthy and Nick Capodice about investigative journalism, public trust, and why this nearly 50 year old film still sparks conversation today.

This is the kind of movie that feels different in a theater. Watching the tension build, hearing the audience react, and then getting to talk about it afterwards.

Plus, all attendees will be entered to win local gift cards and gifts from NHPR and The Colonial! 🎬

Happy National Adopt a Cat Month! 🐱✨

In honor of the occasion, we thought it was only fitting to introduce a few of the feline VIPS that found their forever homes with the staff of The Colonial.

These stars may not be appearing in the NY Cat Film Festival on June 4 at 7:30 PM, but we definitely think they deserve top billing. Presented in partnership with Second Chance Animal Rescue, this event celebrates the mysterious, mischievous, and endlessly entertaining creatures who run our lives.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Second Chance Animal Rescue and their work helping local animals find loving homes.
