“This mural was Inspired by the winter tourism era in the White Mountains, especially around 1890–1930. The region saw a specific boom in hotel development, bringing with it a grand hotel era. The artists completely fell in love with the story behind the start of the Mountain View Grand Hotel...it began as a farm, and after travelers were stranded there in the 1860s and taken in, it gradually evolved into the hotel it is today.”

Making it Public for Massachusetts Artists is expanding to support artists across New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) and will focus on public art in rural places. This is a free five-week virtual workshop series designed to support artists of all disciplines in exploring and expanding their public art making practice. Workshops cover practical and tactical subjects including community engagement, funding opportunities, contracting, insurance, and more!
