Congratulations to our 2026 John Active Memorial Scholarship recipient- Jaylene Hoelscher! Jaylene is enrolled at Franklin University, where she is finishing up a BS in Communications and moving on to an MS in Human Resources Management. She will receive a $1,000 academic scholarship. She stated, "I am incredibly grateful to receive the John Active Memorial Scholarship as I continue my education. After completing my Bachelor of Science in Communication with minors in Public Administration and Human Resource Management, I will be pursuing my master’s degree in Human Resource Management. I hope my journey encourages other Yup’ik students and youth to know that higher education or vocational training is achievable and within reach. Support like this provides more than financial assistance. It gives students encouragement to keep going and achieve important milestones.
