You wouldn't believe what our 4-H youth have been up to! Last week, they dove deep into science with a theme all about discovery. They explored DNA sequencing through the scientific method, created non-Newtonian fluids while studying matter, and even recorded local cloud data for NASA's GLOBE program. 🌍👩‍🔬👨‍🔬 So many future scientists in the making right here in Bethel!

Just a reminder: the Bethel 4-H Afterschool Program is open Monday - Friday from school dismissal until 5:30 PM.

We've received many questions from parents eager to enroll their youth in 4-H. Please note that 4-H enrollment is based on age, not grade level. To be eligible, a child must be at least 5 years old by August 15 of the previous year.

For those youth heading back to school, your child must have been 5 years old on August 15, 2023, to participate.

Looking ahead, our new enrollment calendar year begins on October 1, 2024. If your child turns 5 between August 15, 2023, and August 15, 2024, they'll be eligible to join on that date.

Get ready for an exciting year of learning, growth, and fun with 4-H! 🌱

Our youth dove into circuit design, 3D printing, and video game development, gaining hands-on experience and having a blast. The 4-H'ers have made awesome and beautiful Barn quilts for their homes. Thank you Kelea from Mat-Su/Copper River District 4-H Program for coming out and helping us!

As a quick reminder, next week for Independence week. We will be closed due to short staffing. Tina will be at the Center should any questions or concerns come to mind. The Building will officially
closed for the holiday on July 4 and 5.
