Meet Your Firefighters:

Thomas Haviland came here from Montana and has been a Firefighter/EMT3 for the last 19 years. During these 19 years Thomas has also been a wildland Firefighter which is what he is doing in one of the pictures above. He has a degree in Fire Science and currently is our Acting Fire Captain. By all rights we would love him to have the full time honor as such while our current Captain takes the Chief job. We see Thomas as a great leader and confidant. Besides his love of the fire service Thomas loves to hunt and spend time with his family. Give him a wave and a node when you see him around town.

Ladder testing today! Oh what fun. We load increasing heavy loads on our ladders while they rest point to point on saw horses. Then, after removing the weight, we measure for any bending. This test tells us that a ladder can support a Firefighter plus whoever they are saving.
