Lots of visitors today. A spectacular Summer Saturday for the scavenger hunt, the Kensington Congregational Church festival with music, lobster rolls, strawberry shortcake, and a craft fair benefit show at the High School. Berlin is a great place to be, and we are its enthusiastic cheerleaders.

Our program on "Wooden Clockmaking in Berlin, CT" is coming up - Saturday, June 20th at 1 pm. Tom Vaughn's program ties in with our Cheney Clock Shop vignette and collection. After a talk downstairs, he will spend the afternoon upstairs on the museum level demonstrating how clocks were made. We are looking forward to this event, and are excited to draw attention to our Berlin centric clock collection.

Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve ordered more cow bells. Please continue to reserve yours per instructions in the flyer. If you can’t pick up at the museum on the 20th or 27th, we’ll make arrangements so you’ll have yours for July 4th.

The cow bells are made in CT, and can be used for a lifetime to celebrate not only Independence Day, but New Years, parades, sporting events, and cookouts.

On July 4th at 2 pm, all church bells will be ringing. Berlin Historical Society will have the old Worthington School bell up at the meeting house, and townspeople will be stepping outside their homes to ring bells in celebration. We will have a new shipment at the museum from Bevin Bells in East Hampton - cowbells with our logo and a red-white-blue ribbon. This is a keepsake you can reuse at sporting events, New Years, outdoor barbecues and more. If you want to reserve a bell to pick up at the museum on June 20th or 27th, email or message us and we'll put one aside for you. Cost will be $10 each.

The museum has many scrapbooks passed down from now defunct local clubs. Most of us are too young to remember the Worthington Garden Club formed in 1957. Wonder if it was the precursor to the Berlin Garden Club that disbanded over ten years ago? Now only Kensington Garden Club remains to beautify the whole town. Do you recognize any names on the WGC membership list? We do. Love the little booklets they created each year. Inside are official typed lists of officers and members. Also love the photo of the young flower girls with their baskets. Could they have been in a Memorial Day parade?
