On May 16th from 5-9 PM, we're hosting our Preakness Steaks Party fundraiser at the Kensington Firehouse on Farmington Avenue in Berlin. All proceeds go directly to supporting:

✨ Local food pantries
✨ Scholarships for students
✨ First responders breakfast
✨ Salvation Army luncheons

The evening includes wine and bourbon tasting (plus non-alcoholic options), delicious appetizers from local restaurants, silent auctions, 50-50 raffles, and of coursefancy hats are encouraged! 🎩

Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult, and it's going to be a fun way to support neighbors in need right here in our Connecticut community.

New Year 2026’s first out of the cold luncheon at Salvation Army with Rotarians Elaine, Shree, Charise, Berlin High Interact Daniel serving food along with Salvation Army Captain Jose, His beautiful wife and 97 years young and still going strong Louise. It was nice to feed so many people this cold day. Thanks to everyone who bought and made delicious meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, soup, salad and cookies.

Rotary District 7890 Governor April Beston and her husband John, New Britain Salvation Army Captain Jose Hernandez joined fellow Kensington-Berlin Rotarians in celebrating winter holiday party at Tavern at Trax. Some of the highlights of the game were cookie exchange, angel gift tag gifts,wild and hilariously hard, ball in the red cup game that Guest John Beston won.

I am so excited that we are finally all set for our Seventh Annual First Responder’s breakfast. We had fun setting up for the event tonight with Rotarians and Berlin High Interact Students. This year we had a great number of amazing sponsors from Berlin, Cromwell and Newington. We can’t thank them enough for the sponsorship. We can’t wait to celebrate our first responders tomorrow.

For 2025-26 Rotary Year, at Kensington-Berlin Rotary installation party, District 7890 District Governor April Beston installed Joseph Glowka as President for his second term, Charise Platt: President Elect, Marie Bogdanski: Tresurer and Elaine Pavasaris: Secretary. At the event, current DG Vin Marinaro and his wife, KB Rotarians and Family, Berlin High Interact students and scholarship winners from Kensington-Berlin Rotary : Marcus Joshi and New Britain-Berlin Rotary: John Platt.

Rotarian John Roman awarded 2025 Kensington-Berlin Rotary scholarship to Marcus Joshi. He has been volunteering with KB Rotary since he was eight years old; helping out with salvation army soup kitchen, cook food during First Responder’s appreciation Breakfast, town clean up, Mini golf etc. He will play soccer and Major in Computer Science in Western New England University. Congratulations to Marcus for his future endeavors.
