🎉 Congratulations to the U13 boys team who have earned a spot in the semifinals of the CT Cup!

Yesterday Berlin United boys hosted Rocky Hill at Percival Field for a quarterfinal CT Cup match. Berlin jumped ahead with 2 goals from David Abramek and Damiano Giannone. Rocky Hill then battled back to tie the game at 2-2. Just as it looked like the game was headed to overtime, David Abramek was brought down in the box with 3 minutes remaining in the game. He converted his penalty kick to send the team to the semifinals for the first time since their inception as a U10 team.

The team will now travel to New Canaan on Saturday, 10/25. Time to be determined.

More exciting news! 🏅 Congratulations to the U10 girls team who went 3-0-1 during the Columbus Day tournament in Rocky Hill. Impressively, they only gave up 2 total goals to win their division! Way to go girls!

Berlin U13 Girls Conquer the Elements and the Opposition to Win Columbus Day Classic

Berlin, CT — October 17, 2025 — The Berlin Youth Soccer Association's travel U13 girls team delivered a weekend of grit, skill, and heart at the Columbus Day Classic, sweeping all four of their matches to seize the tournament championship for their age group.

Across Saturday and Sunday, October 12–13, the girls faced early starts, relentless competition, and the full force of fall weather — and triumphed over all of it. Their opening 7:15 a.m. Saturday kickoff set the tone for a determined run built on energy, precision, and teamwork that never waned.

By Sunday afternoon, as rain and wind began to sweep across the fields, Berlin stood tall against both the elements and their opponents. The storm mirrored the intensity on the pitch — yet it was Berlin’s composure, speed, determination and unity that prevailed, culminating in a well-earned championship in the early afternoon on Sunday.

The team relied on collective resolve and tactical discipline as keys to their success. Their speed on the wings, vision and control in midfield, and clinical, emphatic finishing up front overwhelmed opponents throughout the weekend.

Defensively, the group personified “The Berlin Wall,” their four-back alignment denying entry at every turn. Behind them, a fearless, quick-reacting goalkeeper anchored the side with confident command of the box.

Victories over West Hartford, Avon, and the formidable QVFC club highlighted a weekend of complete performances — where every player contributed, every challenge was met, and every moment added to a story of resilience and pride.

As the final whistle blew under gray skies, one truth was clear: the Berlin U13 Girls had not only faced the storm — they had become it.
