Chodesh Sivan Tov!

Shavuot is the moment we stood together at Sinai trembling, opened ready to receive. Last night, we primed the hear with Kohenet ‘s virtual song ceremony: Open to Receive

Today, we offer you this playlist as an opportunity to prepare the body. The Ba’al Shem Tov taught that joy is a pathway to dvekut, to cleaving to the divine. He saw the ecstatic movement of simple Jews as holy prayer. As the body’s uninhibited surrender a form of worship no less sacred than Torah study.

This ~45 minute soundtrack was curated to follow the flow of a a traditional ecstatic dance experience, infused with the energy of Shavuot— to arrive, open as you ascend, receive at the peak, descend, gather as you land, and return. We invite you to give yourself to this experience, to become simple and watch what happens.

Our ancestral story teaches that even when preparing for a journey into the unknown, we are called to make space for the light to get in. Facing flood and upheaval, Noah builds an ark—a protected vessel for what matters most—and into it he places a tzohar, an opening, to receive the sun’s illumination. That wisdom lives in us still.

Many of us are moving through the world with full hearts and busy lives, hungry for something we can’t quite name—deeper connection, renewed purpose, real time to remember who we are beneath the noise. Our community has asked for the time and space to do this work, together, and Tzohar is our response.

Tzohar is Shefa’s three-night legal 🍄 retreat in Aspen, Colorado, offered across two dates in 2026. This offering is for Jews ready to build that opening: to be held in community, to journey inward, and to emerge with more spaciousness than they arrived with.

Applications for our first Tzohar Colorado retreats are now open. We expect spots to fill quickly, so apply and secure your space in the circle. Read about the arc of the experience and start your application at the link in our bio🫶🏽

We are so honored to welcome back for Ready to Receive, a virtual song ceremony this later month.

Elana is a musician, songwriter, community prayer-leader, and ordained Kohenet whose songleading has been described by Rabbi Jill Hammer as “Magnificent, Holy, Stunning” and by Grammy-winning vocalist Bobby McFerrin as “Cosmic.” Known for her ritual leadership and prayer priestessing in Jewish and Song Circle communities worldwide, Elana carries music as medicine.

We invite you soften, be held in song, and receive in this intimate, virtual container.

“The Jewish spiritual tradition has known for centuries that the descent is the ascent”

Join rabbi and psychotherapist Ami Silver for a four-part course offering ancient tools for navigating the contemporary landscape of psychedelic and non-ordinary states.

Each session will introduce a unique spiritual ‘technology’, offering both teachings and opportunities to practice in real time. Together, the cohort will explore the traditional practices of drawing support from ancestors, masters, and the natural world, revelation through embodiment, anchoring through Divine Names, and orienting through the breath.

By making these traditions accessible, embodied, and directly applicable to the modern psychedelic experience, students will be empowered to stay present through unfolding terrains, receive what arises as teaching, find anchoring in movements of dissolution and rebirth.

Session time: 8pm Israel / 1pm EST / 10am Pacific
Monday May 4, May 11, May 18 and May 26
All sessions are 90 minutes and will be recorded for course participants
