OneSky for all children

OneSky for all children OneSky was founded in 1998 to provide care for institutionalized children in China. At the heart of our approach is responsive care.

OneSky partners with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children can thrive. Today, the OneSky Approach helps very young and vulnerable children across Asia in China and Hong Kong, Vietnam and Mongolia. Caregivers (teachers, nannies, parents, grandparents) are trained to observe children. Taking their cue from th

e children’s own needs and interests, they provide interactive and appropriate activities. To reach their full potential every child needs love and care and to know their life matters to someone. Their ability to form relationships will be a key skill for the rest of their lives. To date, OneSky has trained 75,878 caregivers to provide life-changing care for 274,521 children.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Discussions Resource Forum, which featured five adoptees who shared their lived experiences. Through honest and thoughtful conversation, the panel explored identity, challenges and belonging in a meaningful way.

Last year in Mongolia, OneSky supported more families and reached 3,847 children with quality, early childhood care. Other highlights from 2025 include:

- We successfully scaled our Family Skills Training (FST) through both the OneSky Family Center and in public kindergartens in Ulaanbaatar, partnering with 30 kindergartens to deliver FST directly within the public education system.

- We trained 60 kindergarten staff who then supported 1,168 parents with early childhood development training.

- At our Family Center, we delivered our flagship eight-week FST program for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 6. Our local media outreach significantly increased interest, allowing us to reach new caregiver groups.

In Mongolia, OneSky recently wrapped up our spring Family Skills Training program. Due to overwhelming interest, we even added an extra Friday session to welcome more families.

Over the 8-week course, 60 parents and caregivers visited our center for hands-on workshops focused on supporting their child’s development and building stronger family connections through practical learning and guided practice. Meanwhile, 174 children ages 6 months to 10 years participated in age-appropriate activities led by OneSky staff while their parents were in training.

OneSky is proud to support local families, strengthen caregiver confidence and foster a strong sense of community.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing, supportive environment — and last year in China, we helped 14,900 children do just that. Some highlights include:

- Our China Care Home (CCH) program provided essential, round-the-clock care to 373 children from 68 institutions.

- Our Family Village Program supported 1,026 children through 227 trained foster parents.

- Our Family First Initiative expanded to 22 new partner institutions, and so much more!

Whether it’s family members, childcare providers, foster parents, or friends, these are special people who love, care for and guide the children in our programs, and build brighter futures each and every day.

From all of us at OneSky, thank you for helping us bring love to more children, and Happy Mother's Day!
