Northern California Land Trust The Northern California Land Trust (NCLT) is Community Land Trust making homes and community facilities permanently affordable.

The NCLT executes our mission by providing housing services, community development, and consulting/training services. We revitalize or develop properties (on our own or with local builders and funders and then sell the home at below-market cost to residents who have been trained by NCLT for home ownership responsibilities. Unlike most other affordable housing developers, NCLT retains the rights to the land below the house and ensures that the home is resold at similar, below-market rates to the next homebuyer, guaranteeing low-cost housing in perpetuity.

We had a blast last week at the CACLTN conference where we got to learn from the best! Thank you to all the CLTs and other peer organizations for showing up.

NCLT had the privilege of hosting tours at our Baker’s Dozen cooperative, a 4-story Victorian in the Western Addition. Shoutout to San Francisco CLT and Artist Space Trust for leading the other tours, and to our beautiful CA CLT Network for organizing the conference. Until next year!

NCLT at the City of Pinole‘s Juneteenth & Pride Celebration!

NCLT is currently collaborating with Partnership for the Bay’s Future (Partnership for the Bay’s Future) to create updated affordable housing policies for the City of Pinole, in accordance with new RHNA guidelines. Through a series of community outreach events over the last four months, NCLT and PBF Fellow Jared Murti have been gathering public feedback on community housing needs in Pinole. Our goal is to create policy that touches on the 3 P’s of affordable housing policy: Preservation, Protection, and Production.

NCLT will continue to be out in Pinole this summer! Come say hello!

Happy Pride Month from our NCLT family to yours!🏡

This month and every month, NCLT’s mission focuses on cultivating belonging in our neighborhoods. Grounded in the belief that housing provides stability, NCLT believes that affordable housing is key to creating a foundation for community, chosen family, and vibrant culture. We continue to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, a cornerstone of the rich history and evolving culture in the Bay Area.

HAPPY PRIDE!!!

Photos from NCLT’s Resident Happy Hour at Oakland’s own Two Pitchers Brewing Company! 🏡

We had the privilege of hosting many of NCLT’s homeowners, co-op owners, and commercial tenants as a part of our stewardship program. We were able to connect face-to-face and distribute emergency and community resources. We’re already looking forward to our next resident convening!
