🐾 PEARL UPDATE! 🩷🐱

Remember Pearl? She's one of our infamous Crazy 8 kittens from last summer! And bless her little heart, this girl just cannot seem to catch a break! 🥺

We have treated Pearl for just about everything under the sun, including surgically repairing her eye. Despite everything we've done, she continues to struggle with chronic upper respiratory infections that just won't leave her alone.

Last week, Pearl had another flare, so off to the vet we went. She was started on antibiotics and eye medications, and we're happy to report that she already looks AND feels so much better! ❤️

Pearl may be little, but she's one tough cookie. She's been through so much in her short life, and we're determined to keep doing everything we can to give her the happy, healthy life she deserves.

Of course, all these veterinary visits add up, and we could use a little help covering Pearl's latest bill. 🩺💕

If you'd like to contribute toward her care, every dollar helps us keep fighting for kitties like Pearl!

It's OK, AJ. It's not your fault. I'm shutting down the event a little early due to lack of turn out and fall festivals diverting people from the store. I'm used to manning my share of flops. I once did a Weekend in Jefferson fundraiser for The Cat's Meow Rescue and got like $80. I won't even talk about the flops I've overseen in Friends Of The Jacksonville Animal Shelter. But I never lose heart no matter how little people care. That man walking by to buy his dog an $80 Aggie Jersey who won't drop a dime in my jar doesn't deter me. Because when I look at sweet AJ sleeping with his mouse I remember My Why. Our donors and volunteers support us. And we will never stop battling the apathetic population from only seeing us as tools to use and not a place to support.
We won't quit. But please put it on your calendar to come to our event on Oct 31st. The cats need our support and we need to know there are people out there who care.
