It's National Boys & Girls Club Week!

This week, we're celebrating the incredible young people, dedicated staff, caring volunteers, generous supporters, and amazing families who make the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Great Lakes Bay Region such a special place.

Every day, our Clubs provide safe spaces where youth can learn, grow, build friendships, discover new passions, and develop the skills they need to become the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow.

From homework help and healthy meals to leadership opportunities, arts programs, sports, and mentorship, we're proud to help create Great Futures for the more than 1,770 youth we serve each year.

Join us this week as we celebrate the impact of Boys & Girls Clubs and the bright futures being built right here in our community 💫

🚲 A HUGE thank you to Case Systems Inc.!

As we wrapped up our school year session, we had the opportunity to raffle off 22 bicycles to Club members across our sites thanks to the incredible generosity of Case Systems!

The excitement and anticipation was contagious, and we loved seeing so many smiling faces heading into summer with brand-new bikes. Even more special, Case Systems employees joined us at each giveaway, giving our youth the chance to personally thank the people who made these gifts possible.

Congratulations to all of our bike raffle winners! The bicycles were awarded through random raffles at each Club, giving every member an equal opportunity to win.

Thank you, Case Systems, for investing in our youth and helping make the end of our school year session one to remember. Your generosity is helping create lasting memories and plenty of summer adventures!

We want to assure families that there is no emergency at the Essexville Club. The alarm system is currently experiencing a malfunction, which caused alarms to sound continuously. Due to alarms being turned off, we are calling parents to pick up the members to ensure safety.

All members and staff are safe. The school facilities department is working with the appropriate service providers to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Congratulations to our 2026 Hausbeck Award Recipients!

Each year, the Hausbeck Award recognizes outstanding individuals from our Clubs who exemplify leadership, character, service, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. One recipient is selected from our Bay County Clubs and one from our Saginaw County Clubs following a nomination and review process led by Club leadership.

Please join us in congratulating this year's recipients:
🌟 Saria Beemon – Teen Center member and our 2025 Youth of the Year, representing our Saginaw County Clubs
🌟 Ms. Addie Cooley – Dedicated staff member at our Bay City Club, representing our Bay County Clubs

In recognition of their achievements and bright futures ahead, both Saria and Addie received a $500 award to support whatever path they choose to pursue next.
We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the positive influence they have within our Clubs and throughout our community.

We also want to recognize and thank Bay Area Community Foundation and the Hausbeck siblings for their continued support of the youth in our region.

💙 Service with Heart 💙

Our Essexville Club members recently put their creativity, teamwork, and compassion into action by creating handmade tie blankets for local organizations making a difference in our community.

These blankets were donated to Bay Area Women's Center, Great Lakes Dream Center, and Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan – three incredible organizations that provide support, hope, and essential resources to individuals and families throughout our region.

As part of our service learning programming, Club members took time to learn about each organization's mission and the important work they do every day. While some of the topics these organizations address can be difficult, they provided valuable opportunities for our youth to grow in empathy, understanding, and community awareness.

We're so proud of our Essexville kiddos for using their hands and hearts to make a difference. Thank you to these amazing community partners for the work you do and for allowing our youth to support your missions in a meaningful way 💙
