A Message to the Thrive Academy Community

Thrive Academy is suspending the remainder of the 2026 football season. We hold every Thrive program to a high standard, and this decision reflects that.

I recently met with our football parents to share the decision directly and answer their questions. I am grateful to the families who attended.

Our seniors are at the center of our thinking. This is not how any of us wanted their final season to end, and we will not let it close without honoring them. Our coaches and counselors will work with every senior on next steps for college and career, and we will recognize our senior class at an upcoming event.

Every player remains a valued member of the Thrive family. Our underclassmen will have the opportunity to join after-school clubs, offseason conditioning, and winter sports.

One week before the school year began, we lost our head coach and athletic director, and his replacement departed one week into the year. I want to thank our interim coaching staff and the administrators who stepped in to fill that void.

Looking ahead, we have launched searches for both a new head football coach and a new athletic director. Suspending the season gives us the opportunity to get an early start on this process. We are committed to finding the right leaders to build the program our student-athletes deserve, and we will share updates as each search moves forward.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. Please contact me with any questions at [email protected].

A Statement Regarding the October 9 Football Game

Following the conclusion of Thrive Academy's October 9 football game against Capitol High School, an altercation occurred. To our knowledge, no students were injured.

Since the game, Thrive Academy has conducted an internal investigation, including a review of available video footage, and has shared its findings with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). We will continue to cooperate fully with the LHSAA throughout its review.

Thrive Academy does not condone fighting or unsportsmanlike conduct by any student-athlete. We expect our students to represent their families, their communities, and our school with integrity, on and off the field. We will address our students' conduct through our own disciplinary process, in addition to any action taken by the LHSAA.

We hold Capitol High School's history, students, coaches, and staff in the highest regard.

Out of respect for the students involved and the ongoing review, we will not comment further at this time. All inquiries may be directed to [email protected].

Something special is taking shape at Thrive Academy!

Our newly developed Dance Program, led by instructor Elicia Brown, is beginning to find its rhythm, and we’re excited about the foundation being built!

These early stages are about more than learning choreography. They’re about building confidence, developing discipline, encouraging creativity, and giving our students another opportunity to discover their talents and express themselves.

We know greatness doesn’t happen overnight, but every practice, every eight-count, and every step forward brings us closer to something amazing!

We’re building from the ground up, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
