Baltimore, you really know how to show up for us. 🫶

A huge thank you to Charm City Run for donating entries to the Charles Street 12 for our Cancer to 5K community!

Their partnership gives our community the space to get active throughout survivorship, challenge themselves, and have a little fun along the way! 🥳

Whether you’re lacing up for your first-ever run, taking on the 12-miler, or dreaming about a future marathon, Charm City Run has training programs to help you get there.

Want to run with the Ulman Squad on September 5? Sign up through the Support Groups link to claim a bib before they’re gone!

Who’s coming to Camden Yards with us?! ⚾️🧡

Ulman is the Orioles’ Spotlight Partner on Monday, September 7 as the O’s take on the Cleveland Guardians at 1:35 p.m. 🧡

We have a limited number of complimentary tickets up for grabs, first come, first served, for Ulman patients, survivors, and their loved ones.

Miss the free-ticket cutoff? You’re not out of the game. Through the Orioles’ High Five Fundraising Program, tickets in Section 322-328 will be available for purchase, with $7 from every ticket purchased through our link donated back to Ulman Foundation.

We’ll also be bringing a little Ulman to Eutaw Street, celebrating that Orioles magic, and spending the afternoon with some of our favorite people (you)!

We’ll see U at the Yard! ⚾️

Don’t worry, Madi is doing JUST FINE! She was just really eager to remind you guys that we still have Philly Half, Philly 8K, and Honolulu Marathon bibs available for you to grab and make a TRUE difference. 😂

Last year, our 180+ marathon runners raised more than $600,000 to support our young adult cancer community and their loved ones.

YOU could be part of that change this year.

Because what’s better than running a marathon and crossing that finish line? Doing it knowing your miles helped provide patient navigation, lodging at Ulman House, and other resources to a community that needs them most.

Comment or DM us “BIB” to learn more, or visit our website to turn your miles into impact today!

We join the cancer community in mourning the loss of Dr. Harold P. Freeman, the Founding Father of Patient Navigation.

In 1990, Dr. Freeman launched the world's first patient navigation program, which grew from something he was seeing firsthand at Harlem Hospital: too many people were facing barriers that made it harder to get the cancer care they needed. He understood that treating cancer wasn't enough if people couldn't access, understand or make their way through that care in the first place. What started there would go on to fundamentally change how people across the world are supported through cancer.

Ulman Foundation was founded just seven years later. As we approach our 30th year, that closeness in time feels especially meaningful. Patient navigation was still a new idea when Doug and Diana Ulman started our organization, but Dr. Freeman’s belief that people need support through everything that comes with a cancer diagnosis could not be more closely aligned with what they set out to do. Today, patient navigation is central to how we put that belief into practice and our mission into action to support adolescents and young adults facing cancer.

"For young adults, so much of what makes cancer difficult happens outside of the hospital. It can affect work, school, relationships, finances, fertility, family and plans for the future. Dr. Freeman helped change cancer care by recognizing that those things matter, too. That whole-person approach is fundamental to how Ulman's Patient Navigators support AYAs today." - Taylor Hosier, Director of Patient Navigation

We are grateful for his life, his vision and the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind. Learn more about Dr. Freeman’s life and work:

Cancer and survivorship can feel really isolating. But even on the hard days, you don’t have to go through it alone. 💛

Our monthly virtual support groups are a chance to connect with people who get it in a space that feels comfortable, welcoming, and completely on your terms.

Maybe that means opening up and sharing what’s been on your mind. Maybe it means crafting something fun on a Thursday, playing your favorite video game with new friends on a Tuesday, or simply logging on to laugh, chat, and take your mind off everything for a little while. 🎮 🎨

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to share anything you’re not ready to share. Sometimes, just showing up and knowing someone else understands can make all the difference.

Make a friend. Bring a friend. Try something new. ✨

We’d love to see you at an upcoming virtual support group. Visit our website to learn more and sign up today.
