Org to going head-to-head in our men’s and women’s bracket challenges it was a night that reminded us why we do what we do.

The mathematicians known as the “Hidden Figures” were a team of Black women whose calculations were essential to early U.S. space missions. Their work at NASA helped send astronauts into orbit and laid the groundwork for future space exploration.

Their legacy highlights an important truth about STEM: progress is often built through collaboration, problem-solving, and persistence. There are many roles and many ways to belong in STEM fields.
STEM success is built through teamwork and problem-solving!

Be. Certified is The Be. Org’s FREE virtual Cybersecurity Training Program created to expand access, increase earning potential, and introduce our city to careers in one of the fastest-growing industries in the country.

We’re talking real pathways like:
💻 SOC Analyst — $65K–$100K+
🔐 Cybersecurity Analyst — $75K–$120K+
🛡️ Pe*******on Tester — $90K–$130K+
🚨 Ethical Hacker — $110K–$150K+

Caleb Anderson is a powerful example of what can happen when young people are given access, encouragement, and academic support. He became one of the youngest individuals in the country to earn a college degree and has continued pursuing studies in engineering and STEM advocacy.

His story reminds us that talent exists everywhere but opportunity does not. Early exposure and consistent support play a critical role in helping students build confidence and envision long-term pathways in STEM.

Dr. Patricia Bath was a groundbreaking physician and inventor whose work transformed modern eye care. She became the first Black woman doctor to receive a medical patent, developing the Laserphaco Probe a device that has helped restore vision for millions of people worldwide.
