Zumba Workshop Recap 💃🏾
Yesterday we turned our session into a full body dance workout with special guests Morgan State University .msu dancers Iyana, Kam, and Mikell! 💜🖤✨

We started with a MA style warmup then jumped right into Beyoncé’s “Move your body” to get our energy up and our bodies moving. 🎶 🤸🏾‍♀️🔥They got our bodies moving and even taught mentees one of their own dance variations.

Such a fun, uplifting, high-energy session!🤗🩷

✨November 12th was all about personal hygiene and womanhood as mentors Kameryn and Anaya led our “Female Hygiene” workshop 🌸✨

We reminded our mentees that hygiene is more than just brushing our teeth and showering — it’s the daily, weekly, and monthly habits that keep our face, body, hair, and intimate areas fresh and cared for 🧼🪥🧴

We kicked things off with a question box icebreaker where mentees anonymously wrote any questions they had about hygiene, periods, or puberty ✍🏾💭🩸 At the end, mentors pulled questions from the bin and answered them openly — no embarrassment, no judgment, just real girl talk 💌

Throughout the session, we broke down what hygiene really means and why it matters, watched an informative YouTube video on body hygiene🎥📚, and shared practical tips everyone should know. We also talked about navigating your menstrual cycle and how puberty changes play a big role in hygiene.

A huge thank you to our P.I.N.K. Committee and for providing period-care items for our mentees 🩷💛The girls were so engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and walked away feeling empowered, informed, and supported.

On November 5th, our mentor Kayla G. led the “Love Thy Self” workshop where our mentees explored what it truly means to love and uplift themselves. 💖 Many girls today feel like they don’t measure up—whether in appearance, academics, or relationships—but this workshop reminded them that they are more than enough. ✨

Through our positive affirmations activity, mentees learned what affirmations are, how they support us emotionally, and how to create their own using tips like starting with “I AM,” speaking in the present tense, keeping it positive, and setting clear goals. After writing 10 personal affirmations, the girls shared theirs with the group and even wrote and read them aloud on a mirror—embracing self-love, confidence, and emotional growth. 🪞💗

Here’s to continuing the journey of self-love and empowerment! 🌱✨
We encourage YOU to say affirmations to yourself daily.💛

What’s your affirmation for today? ⬇️💕

Last Monday, November 3rd was our ✨Curvy Girls Rock: Body Positivity workshop✨ led by mentor Saniyah. 💖

We talked about what it truly means to love and appreciate ourselves no matter our shape or size and how to maintain that confidence no matter what social media says. 💪🏾🌸

We highlighted inspiring women👑 from all walks of life who are breaking barriers and redefining beauty standards which reminds us that confidence and kindness never goes out of style! 💕

To wrap up, mentees and mentors shared positive affirmations about themselves and and wrote down five things we’re grateful for about our bodies. 💌 Because every part of us tells a story worth loving.🩷

✨ Yesterday’s session was all about self-image and learning to love the person we see in the mirror 💕🪞 Mentees explored the power of positive affirmations and decorated their own mirrors as a daily reminder to speak life, love, and confidence into themselves 💫💖 Because when you see yourself in a positive light, the world reflects it right back 🌎✨

💡 Tips for practicing healthy self-image/love:
🌸 Be mindful of how you talk to yourself.
🌟 Acknowledge your skills and achievements.
💖 Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you.

Last Wednesday, we held our ✨ Vision Board Session ✨ led by one of our amazing mentors, Rayne. During the session, mentees learned about the purpose of a vision board and discussed what should ✅ and shouldn’t 🚫 be included. Rayne also shared great examples of a her own digital vision boards for inspiration. Afterwards, mentees were challenged to create their own vision boards, envisioning themselves five years into the future using mini poster boards, magazines, and other decorative materials.

Today’s EAGER Inc. session, Am I My Sister’s Keeper 💖 reminded mentees that EAGER is more than just a mentoring program, it’s a sisterhood 👭🏽. We started with a sister circle to share what sisterhood and being our sister’s keeper mean to us, then created bracelets ✨ with empowering words. We also revisited EAGER’s core values Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, Patience, Discipline, Service, and Courage and reflected on how each connects to being a true sister.💜
