There's something special about a warehouse full of people uniting to make the holidays brighter for Baltimore families. 🎄❤️
 
Every December, hundreds of volunteers join us for , helping Salvation Army of Central MD prepare thousands of donated toys and gifts for children through its program.

It's filled with teamwork, generosity, and plenty of holiday spirit (and elf hats, of course!). But what makes it so meaningful is knowing that every gift sorted brings us one step closer to making the holidays special for a child in our community.

We're getting ready to do it all again this December, and we'd love for your company to be part of it!

As one GIVE alum put it: “The GIVE family gives back.” 💚

That's exactly what happened on Wednesday, when our Fellows put their Turtle Tank pitches to the test in front of a powerhouse group of GIVE alumni and Business Volunteers board members.

With past Turtle Tank winners among them, our alumni brought invaluable experience to the room, offering thoughtful feedback and helping Fellows sharpen their presentations in real time. A little tough love, a lot of encouragement, and plenty of excitement for what's to come!

A huge thank you to our GIVE alumni for investing in the next generation of community leaders, and to CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield for hosting us in their beautiful space (with some spectacular views to match the weather).

With 3 weeks to go, 59 donors have raised over $16,343 to support eight local nonprofits taking the stage at Turtle Tank: Baltimore's Shark Tank for Good.

But we need your help to ensure every organization walks away with a meaningful award.

Turtle Tank is the culmination of our GIVE Fellowship, where teams of GIVE Fellows pitch on behalf of their nonprofit partners to a live audience and judging panel. Every nonprofit walks away with unrestricted funding, with additional awards going to our first-, second-, and third-place teams.

Now our goal is to raise at least $26,000 to honor the work of the GIVE Class of 2026 and grow the pot of funding available to their nonprofits. You can give to show your support for your favorite team or Fellow, or simply give to support them all.

Who is the person you have the most influence over? Yourself 🫵

Leadership starts from within, and that was the focus of our first Baltimore Ravens Leadership Institute (BRLI) session following last month's kickoff.

Students reunited with their Huddles, reconnecting with their peers and Huddle Captains through some spirited team-building activities, complete with creative team names and chants! 📣

From there, students explored what it means to lead yourself before leading others. They reflected on their personal journeys and heard real-world leadership lessons from their Huddle Captains, all of whom are volunteers from T. Rowe Price.

Thank you to Towson University for hosting us and giving students the opportunity to explore campus, and to our incredible partners, Baltimore Ravens, T. Rowe Price, and UMBC's Center for Leadership and Innovation, for helping develop the next generation of Baltimore's leaders.

Last Thursday, we kicked off this year’s Turtle Tank fundraising campaign at the National Aquarium, and our community is already showing up in a big way. More than 50 donors have contributed over $12,000 to support the eight local nonprofits taking the Turtle Tank stage this November.

“Turtle Tank: Baltimore’s Shark Tank for Good” is the culmination of our GIVE Fellowship, where teams of GIVE Fellows pitch on behalf of eight nonprofit partners to a live audience and judging panel. Every nonprofit walks away with unrestricted funding, with additional awards going to our first-, second-, and third-place teams.

Now, we need your help growing the pot. The more our community raises, the more meaningful the award will be for every nonprofit taking the stage.

Last Thursday marked a milestone for our Fellows: their final session! 🎉

After months of learning and collaborating, Fellows came together with their nonprofit partners for a final working session where they refined their pro bono consulting projects and deliverables. This project has given Fellows the opportunity to apply their skills to real challenges facing Baltimore-area nonprofits and create meaningful impact in our community.

A huge thank you to Port Discovery Children’s Museum for hosting us in such an incredibly fun space, complete with a behind-the-scenes tour (and more than a few Fellows eyeing the slide! 👀).

Thank you also to Marc Kolp and the team at UMBC's Center for Leadership and Innovation for facilitating this session. You've expertly guided our Fellows through the GIVE Advisory Project experience, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Next up: Turtle Tank! 🐢 Fellows will shift from consulting alongside their nonprofit partners to championing their missions, culminating in live pitches at GIVE Graduation on November 4. Follow us to see what they'll be up to next!

Two events. Two incredible Baltimore venues. 125+ attendees. One seriously impressive team. 👏

Yesterday, the Business Volunteers team pulled off a full day of programming. We started at Port Discovery Children's Museum, where GIVE Fellows came together to dive deep on their GIVE Advisory Projects, and ended at the National Aquarium, where we shifted gears and hosted an after-hours celebration kicking off , Baltimore's Shark Tank for Good and the final chapter of our Fellows’ GIVE experience.

From facilitating thoughtful collaboration to creating space for connection and celebration, our staff made the transition between two very different events seamless. We’re proud of the work we do and even prouder of the people who make it happen! 💪

🌊 Last call for tickets to After-Hours at the Aquarium!

One week from today, we’re gathering at the National Aquarium to help launch this year’s , Baltimore’s “Shark Tank for Good,” and grow the pool of funding local nonprofits will compete for this November.

Turtle Tank is part of our program, and assigns eight nonprofits to GIVE Fellows who will pitch their missions, impact, and funding needs before a live panel and audience. After event expenses are covered, proceeds from After-Hours will go directly into the funding pot awarded through Turtle Tank.

Join us October 1, 5:30PM-7:30PM, for an elevated happy hour where you can enjoy the Aquarium’s exhibits without the usual crowds and help make the stakes even more meaningful for this year’s nonprofit participants.

120+ students. 50 Baltimore City and County high schools. One year of opportunities to grow, connect, and lead.

Today, the Baltimore Ravens Leadership Institute officially kicked off at M&T Bank Stadium, bringing together the next generation of Baltimore leaders for the start of an exciting year ahead.

Through this partnership between Baltimore Ravens and T. Rowe Price, students will spend the year learning from community, civic, and business leaders, supported by more than 30 volunteer mentors from T. Rowe Price.

And they wasted no time putting leadership into action. During today’s kickoff, students worked together to build skateboards that will be donated to SSFA. As SSFA’s Executive Director Anthony Hudgins II said: “They’re young leaders who are making things that will help other young people build community and become leaders themselves.”

We’re grateful to the Ravens and T. Rowe Price for making this possible, to the team at umbctraining for facilitating this program, and to Raymone and Heather for joining us as guest speakers.

The year is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see how these students grow as leaders. See you in October! 🍁

Join us for After-Hours at the Aquarium on Thursday, October 1, 5:30PM-7:30PM at the National Aquarium as we kick off this year’s : Baltimore’s Shark Tank for Good.

Meet GIVE Fellows and alumni, Turtle Tank judges, friends of Business Volunteers, and this year's cohort of nonprofits participating in Turtle Tank, while enjoying appetizers, drinks, water views, and the chance to explore select Aquarium exhibits without the usual crowds.

Even better: once event costs are covered, proceeds will help fund the Turtle Tank prize pool, which will be re-granted to the eight nonprofits competing this November.
