Thousands of Girl Scouts from across the nation are gathering in Washington, D.C., July 20–25 for a week filled with adventure, friendship, and unforgettable memories—and everyone is invited!

Who says art has to start with a paintbrush? 🎨✨

Day 2 of Maker Week 2026 challenged Girl Scouts to think outside the brush during Unusual Artistry! Creativity was on full display as participants experimented with pop-a-balloon painting, Tic-Tac-Toe paint-by-number creations, marble art, and masterpieces made with everyday objects.

From unexpected techniques to colorful surprises, our Girl Scouts discovered that inspiration can come from anywhere—and that sometimes the most unique works of art happen when you break the rules and try something new!

🍪🧁 Maker Week 2026 continued with a delicious Baking Day on June 19, and our Girl Scouts were busy whipping up sweet creations and learning new skills in the kitchen!

From decorating cupcakes with colorful icing and fondant masterpieces to crafting chocolate seashells, baking classic chocolate chip cookies, and making no-bake Oreo cheesecake, the day was filled with creativity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

Special thanks to Weis Markets Perry Hall for generously donating supplies and helping make this hands-on experience possible. Your support helped our Girl Scouts build confidence, explore new talents, and create memories that are sure to last long after the last treat was enjoyed!

Maker Week 2026 is off to a creative start!

Day 1: Pottery & Sculpting had Girl Scouts rolling up their sleeves and bringing their imaginations to life. From crafting beautiful coil vases and hand-built boxes using the scoring method to painting adorable cat and bunny platters, the creativity was flowing all day long!

And we're just getting started! Coming up this week: 🎭 Unusual Artistry, 🧁 Baking Day, 🎬 Digital Movie Making & Game Design, and 🖨️ 3D Printing.

Get ready for a WILD afternoon of music, movement, animals, and adventure at our FREE Animal Dance Party on Saturday, June 27!
