¡Buenas noticias en el condado de Baltimore!
Hoy, durante la reunión de la Junta de Educación, se votó de manera unánime a favor de la Política 1250. ¿Qué significa esto? Que se garantiza que todo estudiante en Escuelas públicas del condado de Baltimore tiene derecho a una educación pública, gratuita y, sobre todo, segura, sin importar su estatus migratorio. Ninguna niña o niño debe vivir con miedo en el lugar donde debe estar aprendiendo.

Este triunfo es fruto del trabajo duro y la organización constante.

Desde CAPSI reconocemos a la comunidad que hizo esto posible, especialmente al profesor Edwin Perez, miembro de CAPSI. ¡Gracias por no rendirte nunca!

Seguimos adelante, porque cuando nuestra comunidad se organiza, las barreras caen. ✊🏾

Great news in Baltimore County!
Today, during the Board of Education meeting, a unanimous vote was cast in favor of Policy 1250. What does this mean? It guarantees that every student at Baltimore County Public Schools has the right to a safe, free public education, regardless of their immigration status. No child should have to live in fear in the place where they go to learn.

This victory is the result of hard work and constant organizing.

At CAPSI, we recognize the community that made this possible, especially Edwin Perez, a CAPSI member. Thank you for never giving up!

We keep moving forward, because when our community organizes, barriers fall. ✊🏾

We deeply thank the City Council President Zeke Cohen and the vicepresident Sharon Green Middleton for inviting us to this first-ever Community Impact Summit, where we not only shared our vision but also built new strategic alliances to continue driving the empowerment of our immigrant community. It was truly heartwarming to hear leaders reaffirm the rights that protect us all, recognizing that diversity is what strengthens us as neighbors.

In turbulent times, collaborating directly with those who lead our city is a vital step toward ensuring that progress and equity reach every neighborhood. We reaffirm our commitment to working shoulder to shoulder with local leaders to continue making this the greatest city in America.✨
