local business, and others, the Bainbridge Schools Foundation would not be successful. We hear over and over that people move to the island because of our strong public schools. Giant Check Day is quickly becoming one of our favorite BSF traditions!

Last night, Bainbridge Schools Foundation had the honor of presenting a $450,000 check to Bainbridge Island School District, fulfilling this year's pledge to support students, educators, and schools across the district.

This investment represents a year of generosity from across our community and a shared commitment to strong public schools. We were especially grateful to be joined by student representatives from across the district, who helped present the check on behalf of the many students who benefit from academic intervention, educator support, and library and enrichment resources funded through BSF's annual pledge.

Thank you to every donor, sponsor, volunteer, and community supporter who helped make this possible! Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference for Bainbridge students and educators year after year. We are so thankful! 💙

As both a parent and educator in BISD, Siri Miller sees firsthand how important it is that all students have access to opportunity, enrichment, and support. We’ve had such a fun and joyful week celebrating the incredible transportation, maintenance, grounds, and district office staff who help keep our schools running smoothly every single day!

From getting students safely to and from school, to caring for our buildings and grounds, to supporting the countless details that keep schools operating smoothly, these teams do so much for students, staff, and families across Bainbridge Island School District.

This week, BSF was grateful for the opportunity to treat staff to lunches from Town & Country Markets, doughnuts from Sweet Dahlia Baking, and small appreciation gifts as a thank you for all they do for our schools and community.

We popped into the BHS library last week and were greeted by rows and rows of brand new books! 💙

New library books funded by generous Bainbridge Schools Foundation donors have officially arrived across all of our schools and we hear that they are already flying off the shelves! Thank you so much to everyone who helped fill our libraries with new titles this year.

If our schools relied only on state funding, we'd be counting the hours until the final bell of the year. But because our community shows up for schools, our classrooms stay strong through June and beyond. From this point forward, it’s local support, including levies and community giving, that helps sustain the programs, staff, and opportunities our students rely on every day.

Join us for the State’s Last Day as we recognize all that our community makes possible for our schools. Stop by Sisters’ Cider House on Thursday, April 23 from 5–7pm for a cider, some Skeeball, and a chance to celebrate our incredible island community!
