We had a successful w**d wrangle last Monday! Volunteers removed a bunch of Honeysuckle and made room for native Coralberry to grow in. A huge thanks to the wranglers for their help! Hey folks! As many of you know, the Outdoor Learning Center relies on donations and volunteers to support our mission. The Hendricks County (IN) Master Gardeners do so much to support the OLC! Please consider attending their upcoming Buds and Bids on May 19th!

Here is the schedule for the Buds and Bids live and silent auctions on May 19, 2026. Stay tuned for a sneak peek of the items up for bid.

The plant sale will run from 2-8 pm. Yes, extended hours this year!

Members of the AHS boys track and field team came out to the Outdoor Learning Center to spread mulch on some of the trails. The OLC trails hold a lot of water when it rains, so this project was very helpful. A huge thanks goes out to the team for spending their Saturday morning helping take care of the OLC!

That's a wrap for the 22nd annual native plant sale! Thank you all so much for coming out and supporting outdoor learning in Avon. Massive shout-out to the Hendricks County (IN) Master Gardeners for their stellar assistance. Another thanks to The Distinguished Wien for coming out on Friday. We'll see you all next year for the 23rd annual native plant sale!

We have at least one Common Watersnake living in the OLC. These guys are non-venomous, and they're really important predators!
