One year can make a big difference.
Compared to this time last year, water levels in lakes Buchanan and Travis - the Highland Lakes’ two water supply reservoirs - are significantly higher following major inflows and runoff into the lake system over the past year.
Lake Buchanan is up more than 20 feet.
Lake Travis is up more than 32 feet.
While conditions have improved, lake levels can change quickly depending on rainfall, runoff and water use. That’s why we continue to encourage Texans to use water wisely year-round.
Levels shown are from May 28, 2025 compared to May 28, 2026.
