💗💙 More Than Pink. More Than a Walk. 🎀

On Sunday, the finer women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated – Alpha Kappa Zeta Chapter proudly participated in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk!

We walked to honor survivors, remember those we've lost, support those still fighting, and stand together in the fight against breast cancer. 💕

Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and supported this important cause. Together, we're making strides toward a world without breast cancer!

📝 **YOUR HOMEWORK:** Every city’s government works a little differently! Take time to learn how YOUR City Council is structured, who represents your neighborhood, and what decisions they make. Research the candidates, their priorities, and their plans for your community.

If you said MIDTERM ELECTIONS, you get an A+! 🌟

But here's the real lesson: Midterms are about MORE than Congress!

While national races often grab the headlines, midterm elections can also include state and local contests that shape the decisions affecting our everyday lives.

🏛️ Federal: Members of Congress make decisions about national laws, funding, and policies.

⭐ State: Texas legislators and other state officials help shape education funding, healthcare policies, state budgets, and public safety.

🏙️ Local: City council members, judges, and other local officials make decisions that can affect housing, transportation, neighborhood development, and community services.

💡 So why should you care? Because the people elected to these offices help make decisions about the schools our children attend, the roads we drive, the healthcare we access, and the resources available in our communities!

When you think about elections, judges may not be the first names that come to mind. But did you know that many Texas judges are elected by voters?

⚖️ Why does it matter?

Judges make decisions that impact our everyday lives, from family law and child custody to criminal cases, civil disputes, and the interpretation of Texas laws.

And here's something to remember: Judicial races are often farther down the ballot, but their impact reaches far beyond Election Day!

📚 Your homework: Before heading to the polls, take a moment to research the judicial candidates on your ballot. Learn about their qualifications, experience, and the courts they hope to serve.

📚 Zeta Schoolhouse: Election Edition is back in session, and today's lesson is all about being prepared at the polls!

Early voting in Texas begins TODAY, October 19th, and runs through October 30th! Before you head to the polls, make sure you've done your homework! ✏️

🪪 WHAT TO BRING: Texas voters should bring an acceptable form of photo ID, such as a Texas driver's license, Texas personal identification card, U.S. passport, or another approved ID. Don't have one? You may qualify to use a supporting document under Texas voting rules.

📋 STUDY YOUR BALLOT: Visit your county election office's official website to find your sample ballot. Research unfamiliar candidates, offices, and propositions so you know what's on your ballot before you vote!
